I think you took a bit of a leap by saying "property tycoon." I meant more like Jeremy casually buying up places here and there and then renting out to friends/family, hiring someone to do the actually heavy lifting and managing of the place. He wouldn't consider that work, but it would actually be a passive income stream. Think Taylor Swift letting Sophie Turner use her New York City apartment that she generally keeps for renting out. It's not Scarlett O'Hara creating a shantytown to upscale her husband's lumber business. Now something like that would be beneath him.

That was basically Brad's storyline with that 20-something boy toy he had for a bit in the aftermath of Robbie's death. He was so boring I didn't bother memorizing his name. It's good Brad is with Jake. Jake refuses to be taken as anything less than an equal despite not being a billionaire. It also helps that he's not young enough to be Brad's son. LOL

I remember asking Mark about this, and Mark said something along the lines of, "JJ doesn't really care about where the money comes from as long as it keeps coming up in his account." Or a roundabout way of saying that JJ really doesn't concern himself with financial money matters because as long as his "mailbox money" (tm Southern Charm) keeps showing up, he's grand. They were concerned about JJ when he was with Zanie because they were worried he'd spend way more money on that obvious golddigger, but that sorted itself out. I kind of figure that JJ will eventually start buying up properties and getting other people to manage them and taking a percentage of rent, i.e. a passive income stream. He kind of already got himself started on that path without even really realizing that when he got Carullo that house and had that couple act as the contractor to get it together. JJ probably wouldn't think of it as work, just a fun thing to do to buy up a house, get it decorated, and then hire a landlord to run the place.

I get a kick out of it as well. During "Poor man's Son" and the emancipation storyline I hated Will and wanted to see him punished, but I've since gotten okay with him. He's mellowed out a bit at 18 as compared to when he was 14. He also drives so much of the storyline that I figure you won't keep him settled down until he's nearing 30. (I still maintain the logical moment to pass on to the Gen Z characters is when 2016 hits.) So he can't mellow TOO much, or else he can't drive the story.

I love though that Anderson Cooper is so down to Earth and believes in earning your own money. He's gone in the record as saying he won't leave an inheritance for his son because he believes in making your own money. Having seen the way his family burned through their fortune over several generations, it's great that he wants to instill in his son the value of hard work.

Man, it would have been great if you had the means to buy a house in the Obama era. My estranged dad bought a 2-bedroom little house in the Gulfport, Florida area for 48k in 2012, and when we did his estate in 2023 it went for 285k with no updates or anything. I still have fantasies about moving to some cheap house in the MidWest, like Iowa or Nebraska or something. (Not Montana or North Dakota, though, because it seems like those areas got taken over by rich people so real estate is crazy expensive there now.) I would have said Detroit, but apparently those days of very cheap houses in abandoned neighborhoods are over now.

I am training to be a paralegal. Currently we're learning about the "at will" employment doctrine in Pennsylvania, and the "public policy" exception to at-will employment when it comes to wrongful termination lawsuits. Essentially, if there's no contract or a statute protecting you, you're screwed. You're really, really screwed. I just read about a case called Weaver v. Harpster (2009) where a woman who was sexually harassed was dismissed from her job. The court eventually ruled that her case did not trigger "public policy" because her place of employment had only 3 or less employees and the statutes governing sexual harassment (within the larger Pennsylvania Human Relations Act) can only apply to a business with at least 4 employees. THAT blew my mind.

I really don't think JJ has ever really delt with the issues of having a mom who essentially turned a blind eye to what was going on with him and his coach because she was too busy with her own mental breakdown. This has nothing to do with CAP but I've been curious to see what your opinion is on the Menendez case as someone who is a defense attorney in the Los Angeles region. I always figured that's because Mark isn't interested in skiing, therefore the characters don't do it, either. He does seem interested in horse riding and sailing, so we do see the characters do that.

For the visual, I thought Ralph Fienne's hot nephew would make a good Kevin fancast. Oh, Hero. What a cutie. One of the few times I've been able to fancast a character who was described as having green eyes with someone who actually has them.

He started off as a child actor, and did the New Lassie on Nickelodeon. I think that's the answer I'm going to go with because I've been thinking that guy was super-cute ever since he was on an episode of Seventh Heaven. I could also just see Private Tim finding a Lassie remake an affront to the legacy of the original. LOL Oddly enough though, Will Estes never really became a full-fledged teen idol despite how damn cute he was. It just never quite worked out, although he wound up having a much longer career than a lot of the big teen idols wound up having. Bluebloods itself was 14 years of work. He's kind of had a "Hey, it's That Guy" career.
