Oh shit, you're right. I never even realized it but you're right that Will and Kris are a lot like each other. (And probably why they wouldn't have hit it off in a real relationship, because they would have killed each other.) The main difference is that Will doesn't have Kris's ambition.

Chapter 25 -When Kris reaches his limits and leaves JJ in New York. "Alone Again" by Gilbert O'Sullivan -When Claire decides that her 24-year relationship with Jack is over. "The Winner Takes It All" by Abba Yeah, I busted out the big boy for this one. The look on that poor woman's face at the end of this video. Geez.

It's weird how random it can be. Abe Lincoln had 4 sons, only 1 survived to adulthood, and he managed to have direct living descendants until 1985. Meanwhile, Zachary Tyler has a living grandson that is 96 years old.

This has been rough for me as well because there's a lot of my younger self that I can see in JJ, and a lot of my current self that I can see with Will in what it's like dealing with a difficult sibling. I do think the one thing that could help JJ a lot is if he's brought back down to earth in a really hard, rough way. Maybe Mark can write a fairy godmother that temporarily turns JJ into a poor guy like the 1987 romantic comedy Maid To Order?

Chapter 24 -When Will punches the ever-loving lights out of Jays. "One Step Closer" by Linkin Park Mark, you're making me feel like I'm viewing the Jeremy/Adam Anger Show from a safe distance, and my god, I want to punch that dick. LMAO I'm really hoping that my namesake eventually comes to some really hard realizations that I had to come to as well when I entered and went through my 20's. *For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Mark and I were part of Adam Phillips Yahoo discussion groups when he was still writing his Crosscurrents story. Let's just say that early 20-something me was really good at pressing Adam's buttons, and when I realized that, I got a kick out of doing it and things could get pretty ugly. Mark used to call me Adam's whipping boy because of the mean things that Adam would write towards me. LMAO By my mid-20's we mostly calmed down and got along okay until Adam decided to drop online writing circa 2016-2017. I cannot believe that was all over 15 years ago. Jesus christ. In any event Adam's best friend Sean told me that I was lucky I didn't live anywhere near Dallas because I probably would have been punched in the face at some point. LOL -When Darius comforts Will. "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders

Remember, this is a soap opera. Days of Our Lives redeemed a serial killer.

Ride or die means loyal, like you'd do anything for them even if it could cost you something. But in any event, you really did pretty much implode every relationship JJ has. Lol
-
Eh, Matt is probably his ride-or-die, Tiffany and JJ have that maternal-like bond, and Carullo/JJ were bonded as friends that had sex. They may not want to talk to him when he's being an ass, but he hasn't imploded those connections. For now, anyway. LOL Of course it helps that they're in Boston and Connecticut, respectively. Stefan personally had someone go to JJ's apartment and replaced all of JJ's clothing with crap from The Gap.

I think they figured that JJ probably knew one and three didn't really add up to two, and he wasn't bringing it up because it didn't actually matter. In JJ's case, I think he never really questioned anything because of his childish self-centeredness until someone he's invested in (Kris) is going through something, and then suddenly JJ realizes that the foundation he built his whole identity on is a lie. Or how he's seeing it that way. I'm calling this phase the "demolition" phase of JJ's character development. Because he's pretty much imploded everything. The only people I can even see wanting to talk to him now are Tiffany, Matt, and Carullo. Kris, I think, is holding on because he's said as much- JJ being so fucked up makes him forget about his own issues. As an aside, when I was 18, I did a series of things that pissed people off so much at me that I really, really had to take a look at myself in the mirror. So here's hoping JJ does that.

Chapter 23 -When JJ is an absolute ass who alienates everyone around him. "Mr. Lonely" by Bobby Vinton Eh, JJ's just an average day theater kid. I went to a school full of them.

All we know is Nick Schluter and Bitty Schluter, right? Just tell yourself that Janice was an only child and both parents had passed away before 1962. Ooh, maybe she was orphaned when her parents died in the Hindenburg.
-
Stefan did have sex with women in CAP and 1968, but I believe he was exclusively gay by The Land Whore. If I'm remembering right. So an errant heir in his 40's could be out there, maybe. Probably not, but maybe.

That was the same wreck that killed Ace's father Andre, right? Now I remember- it's how Ace came to be raised by JP, and then Brad was abused by Janice for 5 years until JP adopted him in 1968. And then assumedly JP and Isidore decided to name their son Billy after Billy Schluter.
-
I am completely blanking on Billy Schluter. Since Billy Crampton (1964-1980) was named for him, I would think Billy Schluter had passed away in the original CAP story. Then wasn't there a Hayes named Billy who faked his death in World War II and lived the rest of his life in an island?
-
I always thought the funniest thing about JJ is that he's a romantic comedy character (the stuck up rich kid who needs a lesson or two in humility), but he's stuck in a soap opera drama instead.
-
I kind of figured it was something everybody knew but didn't really talk about, like how Brad had Bitty "taken care of", but eh. We can assume that JJ never asked, and they never answered, and JJ kept to the happy little bubble he likes to keep himself in.

I've been waiting 15 years in real human time for JJ to grapple with his paternity and damn the fireworks were worth the wait. I've been hoping since Mark moved JJ to New York and sent him to a performing arts school that we'd see him trod the stage of some Off Off Off Broadway blackbox theater. He could be Gabe in an early workshop production of Next to Normal. 😂

Interesting regional difference. Here on the East Coast, we're more likely to refer to freeways as expressway, and we don't use "the" in front of it. So instead of saying, "I'm going to take the 101 freeway", you'd say "I'm to take 95." -
They structured his trusts differently so he doesn't have as much unfiltered access as Darius and Will do. JJ is not a business minded type and as long as there's money in his account to pay off his credit cards, he's happy. He doesn't care where the money comes as long as he gets to spend it. That's why I figured JJ should probably invest in real estate and make passive income that way. I remember this trust fund adult on a reality show jokingly calling that mailbox money. Lol

I meant John Carullo. Lol

Faces for Mark's Stories

My Mouse fancast grinding on my Van (On the Mark) fancast at the former's concert. God, Ross Lynch just IS that straightish guy you lusted over and thought maybe, just maybe something could happen. LOL They capture that feeling so well. Other than Van, I could also see Ross Lynch as a really good Ryan. -
I keep conflating Tony and Carullo in my mind. LOL

Chapter 19 -When JJ imagines all the cheesy tourist stuff he's going to have to do in San Francisco. "San Francisco Blues" by Peggy Lee -When Travis gives Will a promise ring on the eve of Will going off to college. "Don't Worry Baby" by The Beach Boys
-
That is an incredibly good analysis. JJ is not a nice person, and he acknowledges that he's not, but until now, nobody has ever even tried to get him to act better. Because although JJ is a dick, he's not evil or scheming. He doesn't do drugs, and finished his schooling like he was obligated to do. He's just a stuck up kid who has seen that is a pretty effective way to act because people generally leave him alone. He likes attention, but only when he's on a stage, so to speak. Not until his therapist and Kris has JJ even be consistently called out on needing to act better. You kind of wish Tonto had been around, but alas, she died when JJ was about 4 or 5. What I do really miss about the Carullo storyline is that Carullo actually did get JJ to interact with people he wouldn't have normally interacted with.
