If someone decides to read the discussion thread for a new story chapter before they read the chapter, then they deserve to get "spoiled". What say you?
-
Apparently! Tea for two and two for tea. You for me and me for you.... Shall I continue?

Your propensity for the dens of inequity are none of my business. Mind you, please feel free to PM me the details. In one way or another, we are all sinners. Birds of a feather flock together. So when some church screams out, "We are gay friendly!" we all come a'running. We desire that acceptance. So unless you are totally submerged in naivete, you will quickly realize that no one up there in the pulpit is saying that homosexuality is not a sin.

Good one, Benji! Well, Frosty One, I'm afraid that you will have to take it on the chin, at least for a bit. But this too shall pass. Remember, the Phoenix only rises from the flames....and right now you are engulfed in flames. Moving On is a great story. Posting a new chapter will have us all back in the choral...or whatever. I seem to be short on metaphors this evening. Fail again, I say to thee, and the hairs on your head will be counted (by Benji, not me )and you will bare the mark of the damned forever more. I just love drama.

I'm quite unsure that this discussion of rat meat is of any value to the readers. I, for one, would like to move on. I have no doubt that rats have been served up as food for centuries. I have no doubt that rats continue to be a source of sustenance for many humans. Eating rats has got hunger all beat to hell. So, unless we're all prepared to start exchanging rat recipies. let us please discuss more interesting aspects of this story. Mark, I know and understand that you are a strong supporter of free speech. If someone wants to talk about eating rat meat, you will not prevent them from doing so. I'm begging you, enough of rats. It has no conclusion that hasn't already been presented. All I can say at this point is, "Rats!"

What it comes down to for me, the bottom line as it were, is that I just don't trust any church that purports to be gay friendly. To me, it seems nothing more than saying "sinner friendly". Any church, affiliated or not, needs membership to exist. Sinners are the natural target. Sinners want to be accepted, welcomed, understood and, most importantly, forgiven. Churches exist, at least on the surface, to save souls. Churches are sin-focused. Have you ever seen a church represent itself as "rightgeous friendly"? I wonder how well a church would do if it represented itself as "lawyer friendly"?

Mel's bedroom... That made a fantastic picture in my head. Of course, had you explained how Eli ended up in that predicament, it would have ruined it all. Mind you, it would have been better if you had had Mel operating the fan's variable speed controller thingy. I'll tell you, the greatest entertainment in the whole world is watching 4 and 5 year olds at their first school "concert" up on a stage doing the Hokey Pokey. It's to die for. There I go again. I'm totally curious as to who it is who goes around saving people from dun dun dun dun The Mist. This would make a great TV show like "Supernatural". (I'm not going to mention the two hot dudes on that show or this post will never end. ) The unsettling think about this "Mist Saviour" is that he (gender?) had access to both Eli's and Mel's homes and cell numbers. That's creepy in itself. I'm trying to be patient, but when will we get some hint of a budding romance?

Good! We're even then!

I don't think Benji can respond right now. He's getting fitted for one of those white jackets. You know, the ones where you get to hug yourself. That was a huge chapter, Chase. I'm going to have to read it at least one more time....well, when my head stops hurting that is. The plot is becoming increasingly complex and, at least for me, the dialogue increasingly crytic. Just remember, Chase, it's just us "mere mortals" out here. So what do we have here - David is part of the plot to carry on the war with Venz, but he's likely just a pawn, being manipulated by other "interests". Said "interests" are employing magic or getting assistance from those magical in their efforts. I'm totally clueless around the False King's involvement other than Venz is not high on his list of places to visit. Jeremy's dreams seem to suggest there is some sort of historical connection between him and the saving of Elijah...as opposed to the royal blood connection I had suggested earlier... which was total nonsense of course my purpose there was to introduce smut into the story... I find authors rarely take me up on it...btw, any chance there'll be a threesome with... Actually, what we really have here is a whole lot of nothing. And, not only that, it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

Yes, I've heard that Neph was good at getting men to do stuff. Oops! Good ending to chapter 2. It was nicely set up as well. The mist thing is working well; it's got that tactile thing goin' on too. So Eli's mom got around did she?

Suspenseful opening! No doubt about that. Horror's not my usual cup of tea. It's always a bummer when your favourite character ends up in a meat grinder. But, yeah, more would be good. Let's try and keep the black icky stuff to a minimum, shall we?

Seeing that I can claim that I'm still suffering the effects of my bathwater, I have another thought I'd like to throw out there. I have this increasing sense that the character, Caleb, is to some degree autobiographical -meaning that our sweet Chase identifies strongly with this character. Caleb will not just be a hero, he'll be a tragic selfless hero. He will die young. He will die bravely. He will die honourably. It will be the ultimate in sweet sorrow. You just can't beat stuff like that.

Obviously, I'm missing something here. All I can see is a straight red line running along the y-axis. If the red line is the gragh, all age groups are sitting on the "horrifying" level. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Poker on the high seas! I loved it! I never would have survived in these times. All that "graciousness" would have done me in. I would have ended up in iron chains in some don's dungeon. Being the son of an Earl, I guess it's second nature for Granger. Granger has again fared well for both country and king. It's actions such as this rescue that stays in people's minds. Makes for great gossip in the royal courts as well. Our Georgie does us proud. No news of Travers. Not surprising really. I am curious though. Granger and Calvert, what a wonderful romance! I just knew they wanted to sail off together and forget about the rest of the world.

Moi? I'm just looking for a pool party! Besides, I've never been right before!

"You're Beautiful" was hilarious.

My male friends are what gives me happiness because from them I get intimacy, trust, honesty, vulnerability and loyalty. I do my best to give these same gifts back to them. ....and it only took me 55 years to figure that out.

All the above is horse poop. The Venz really do want peace. David is the plotter here. He set up his father's assassination. Guess who's king now? That corporate dude and his wench (who Caleb killed) are also part of the plot. I believe David may also be in cahoots with Braden's father, the king's brother. Caleb is a sweetheart. Yes, he's got that bad ass attitude goin' on. I love it. I believe jeremy is the love child of Titian through some extramarital affair. The Queen has accepted it though because she has welcomed Jeremy as family. David is killed, perhaps by Caleb, but Caleb also dies from his wounds. Long live King Jeremy! :king: There's a big bar-b-que and pool party. Jeremy and Braden live happily ever after. Everything else is just details.

Excellent, excellent chapter, CJ!! I particularly liked the Israeli involvement. I have always admired their military and special ops prowess. Also looks like some US bureaucrats may get flattened on the political tarmac. Their choice seemed to be either allowing a nuclear Iran or admitting their idiocy. Easy choice for a bureaucrat. So while Bradson is busy doing final clean-up, the boys can relax and have a pool party!!!

What exactly does gay friendly mean? I'm talking specifically in regard to this gaychurch banner? Is it something like, "Hate the sin, not the sinner!"? Well that's just crap. Maybe it means, "Please come in and join us. Your eternal soul is in God's hands, not ours. We won't judge you. In fact, we prefer not to talk about it at all. Would you like to make an offering? How much you ask? Well, 10% of everything you earn is a good guideline." Bur seriously, your Frogginess, what does gay friendly mean in this context?

[NickolasJames8] Staying Together
Conner replied to Conner's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Great chapter, Nick! I've never been a big fan of cars, even as a young man. Although I certainly appreciate the attachment that many guys get toward their set of wheels. You did a good job of describing Philip's reaction to getting his "burgundy beauty" back from the dealership. No charges??? Now that was harder to believe! So we've got some serious drama coming our way in the next chapter. You set that up nicely. -
Back off, Mark! It's my fantasy! Anything's possible.
-
Yes, indeed, this chapter had everything! And here I thought that a trip to India and back would be a trifle boring. Personally, I don't give up my bedroom to anybody. I can be talked into sharing...even though I never attended kindergarten. However, I do understand Granger's reasoning. Enric - interesting analysis of what's to come of the Spanish treasure. The "fantasy" scenario that pops into my head is to dump the Spanish overboard and head for Tahiti where Granger and Calvert start up a slave trade business.

Happy B-Day, Francois!! J'imagine que ce n'est plus ta fete en France. Toutefois, je celebre toujours ici! Chapeau!!
