Sounds like my brother's relationship with his girlfriend. We've been telling him for years to get rid of the biatch and he still won't listen, no matter how sick and tired he is of her. You're just going to have to let her figure things out on her own. The only thing you can do is keep an eye on her and if you really think she is suicidal, you need to talk to her parents or someone else and get her the help she needs; unfortunately, it's most likely going to be more help then you yourself can provide. Other then that, I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. I also think that perhaps you need to address her about your fears and concerns and let her know what they are. Maybe if they see that someone else is scared and worried and has fears of their own in regards to her, she'll snap out of it. Regards, Linxe

I don't know what's going on with you , but you seem to have become very bitter and angry lately, sadly, I only noticed this yesterday. Look, I understand where you're coming from and as a former member of the United States Navy, I understand why you feel those are important issues. The fact of the matter is that you completely disregarded another generation of homosexual males and females and decided that their feelings didn't mean diddly shit because to you they aren't adults and don't have a dicks lick of an idea on life. Who the hell made you god that you could decide that their feelings and opinions didn't mean jack shit? No one. As was previously stated, we all have different opinions on what is more important. But how can we honestly expect equal rights in the military and in the work place if we can't even get equal rights in school? Not a single person here is wrong in their feelings or in regards to what they feel is important. But you need to remember that equal rights have to start somewhere. A battle won in the courtrooms in regards to this young lady's prom date may very well be a battle won in regards to DADT or employment later on in life. It's a slow battle, and I know you're tired, but don't give up. Just think about the fact that for all of us within different generations, other things are more important than others. To address the 'word' problem between microsoft word and the efiction software, on the paragraph section where you cut and paste the meat of your story you should be hitting a little clip board button with a w on the front of it. That brings up a screen that formats the msword stuff into usable/understandable tidbits of information for the efiction software and keeps your formatting the way you had it. Now onto the rest of the conversation, sure, having reviews is nice, even better is when someone actually posts in the thread discussion area, but the best thing for me is when a completely new person drops in and pms me just to say they've read the story and like it. I like that because i'm more inclined to see the email, and I'm more inclined to respond; seeing as I don't always check the forums myself. Dear W. One; I thank you for your concern and write this to inform you that there is no lack of effort on my part to see to the continuation of Spider Webs. While the next chapter has not been written, it is not through any lack of indecisiveness or just because, but rather, a need on mine and the author's part to get the ending out of the way first in order to get some other stuff out of the way. Nelson meets a cowardly painter. Nelson falls for a painter who doesn't appear to be as hot for him as he is for him. Nelson meets a painter. Can Love conquer a world of fears? Yeah.... That's all I got, aside from mention that Nelson and crew need to go to AA meetings... HS. Uhm... That might be a bit hard, considering we don't know where the story is going yet. Only thing I can think of is something like WT. DD meets TOU. Can Luke and Taylor conquer their separate pasts and learn what it means to love? Yeah, that's about it. I'm sure someone far more descriptive then myself can come up with something better. I'd rather give the reader some clues to what may lie inside and, in the case of HS, a little brief spoiler about who some of the characters are. The reader can find out the rest of the answers for themselves, right along with the rest of us.

Interesting conversation. I myself have recently considered posting on Nifty, but, I'd have to write a story I don't give a crap about first, I think. I say that because I'm not going to argue with the Nifty Gatekeepers over who has the rights to the story, especially when their TOS pretty much states that any rights I had as the author are null and void because they're a) lazy and holding me up for money in order to get anything done. That said, I can say that Nifty wasn't always that way. I wrote stories back in the late 90's as a teenage lad of about 16/17, (no I won't ever tell anyone the titles), and I had a very good relationship with one of the archivists for one of the mirror sites. I believe his name was Dave and he lived in NY (or I'm thinking about Dabeagle), and the archivists actually gave a crap back then. I'm not so sure they do now, but then, I haven't emailed them recently or submitted anything. That being said, I also have to agree with Vic. 90% of the material on Nifty is utter crap. It's like opening a bunch of clam shells just to find that rare pearl. Talk about boring and tedious, but nifty is what ultimately brought me here, along with "The Other side of Me" by Dom Luka. So yes, it has its uses, mainly, if you post a story, tell the readers in your disclaimer where they can find more of your stories: Here. You can do that by providing a link to the site within said Disclaimer.
