Thanks Dathi, getting the mix of techo information and character action right is quite difficult at times and it's good to hear that it's working for you. Various things have interfered with the progress of chapter 18 but it's nearly ready.

Thanks for your comments and it's a delight to hear how Jarra and Mirri have tugged at so many hearts.Chapter 18 is driving me crazy - I've had several goes at it at it and it just won't come out right.

Words are fun - at least that's my point of view and making Yirgella interested in quirky language is a gimmick to let me use some of it. lol - I had Sonic doing the same thing in Attunga. I have no idea when or where I picked up 'discombobulated' and I almost didn't use it because it might not be very well known. - I'm delighted you enjoyed it. 'Quips and cranks and wanton wiles, Nods and becks and wreathed smiles.' I find it quite complicated to work out the mix of storyline and personal interaction.

Thanks again. Hmm! Next post might be a long hold out I'm afraid. I chunked a big piece out of 18 because I try to balance Mirri's doings with the techo sort of stuff that's goes with Jarra's life and I'm no longer a chapter ahead of posts. Life's interferring AGAIN too as I'm heading off next week to help my brother for a while after a knee replacement procedure. No more of Padilpa - he was just a lead in to the need for more education in the Carnarvon Community.

Mparntwe Chapter 17. *** The fifteen centimeter communication tunnel from the top of the lift shaft was now widened to 130 centimeters and to negotiate its vertical rise Jarra had to transfer through the top of the transport capsule which had carried him up the lift shaft and buckle himself into the harness arrangement which would take him the final step to the surface. Those bad guys are in for a shock when they realise they weren't successful in their attempts to get rid of Yirgella.Yirgella does have a big restraint though which I haven't made much of yet.

Mparntwe Chapter 16. Jarra watched Yirgella set the geothermal project in motion. Thanks for your review, mssri,I'm delighted that the special things about Mirri which I try to portray have come through to you so strongly. I like to think that Jarra is very special too, in his own way. I haven't emphasized it much, apart from an outburst by Baradin at the end of chapter 5, but he's faced enormous hurdles to become the gentle, rather unassuming person who's caused Mirri to flourish so. Note - Life has been interfering with my writing time and with a trip to Sydney last week and the rest of this week away at the coast the next post is at least a week away. Sorry.

The enjoyable chapters keep coming! I liked the insight into the thoughts and feelings of the newcomer though he does seem a bit dependent to me - well, early days. Linda continues to be a powerhouse of determination and action - lol - the female of the species Your 'real' factor is very high - everyone so far feels like a real person rather than a character in a story.

Yes, Mirri has a different and wonderful world view.Attunga? lol - I hope to start a 3rd story in the series not too long after Mparntwe finishes. (Finish is still a way off though)

Someone's been doing their research. Wait for the next chapter - it has more excitement than usual. - and I'm afraid that 'wait' might be the operative word. I leave in a couple of days to visit family in Sydney before they move to the USA to live, so there'll be almost a week where I can't give much time to the story. Thanks Dathi.
