Not sure that either Granger or Travers is really right or wrong, they just are stubborn and each has their own point of view to consider. I hope they make up soon. The vagaries of war make it very hard to know when you see someone off if you will ever see them again. I have to wonder if Arthur is involved in the issue with Travers in some way???

Granger's last statement has the feeling of a lie... Glad to see Travers, even if it is just for a little bit...
-
Well, I for one just can't be upset about Calvert. The man just annoys me to no end. It is a compliment to Granger for him to be given such a choice command as his first one. I hope he does well, just far away from Granger.
-
Have to wonder what the story with Jardines is? I wonder if we will find out later... I do appreciate how Granger handles Arthur and the rest and still is paying court to Caroline.
-
A visit from the First Lord of the Admiralty would be a major coup for anyone. I have to wonder if there is something else at play here. Glad to see that Granger is paying more attention to Caroline. He needs to make sure they are on the same page working toward the same goal...

Damn, Nana reminds me of Tonto in all the best ways... I loved how she took charge of Ethan. I do think that Wade is right in that one day Ethan will have to enter the Danfield world at least to some extent and he is totally unprepared for it. I would have thought any school that the Senator sent his son to would have had cotillion or some type of classes dealing with manners and such. Brad really seems to be in a better place after his trip to Claremont. I hope that he does embrace Robbie's desire to help Claremont and those that live there. I was even proud of how he handled Brenda. Brenda does have some family, her husband and oldest son and his kids; but I doubt any of them really gave her a chance to grieve for Robbie and no matter what she needs to be able to do that. WOW, Will actually did something sexual with someone close to his age... I am not sure how to take that.

This was just a great story and so well written. I do find that I enjoy this story more and more as it goes on. I am drawn in to the story and the people that inhabit it. I really care about all of those in the story, yes even Calvert. I have to wonder if Granger will make it all the way back to India. It seems that he has been traveling more than someone in his position would be. I can see them wanting the ship out of the area when the story of the murder of the Captain and first and what caused the mutiny but India seems like a little too far. Caroline handled the truth better than I expected, not that I ever thought she would even consider a divorce. I have to believe that she must have suspected this at least to some extent.

This would really make Granger amoung the youngest to ever reach the Post Captain rank. I can't think of anyone that would deserve it more. Granger handled himself well in America and is now ready to move on to bigger and better ships and places.
-
Another successful mission even if they left today, they captured the grain transport and got another ship and found the letter that will help the Jay Treaty pass. I have to say that I find the writing in this story just first rate. You really get a feeling that you are in the past with Granger and Co....
-
Heading back to Englad with a stop in America first, but without Humphreys and FitzWilliams, at least they will be back together.
-
Both Humphrey and Granger both proved themselves with their actions, they worked with what they had and pulled it off. I find it amazing that Granger is able to put up with those that are deliberately rude...
-
I just want to slap Calvert with a two by four. It is amazing to me that he could get to his position with seemingly no idea of how the navy and society of that time worked. He needs to work at courting Caroline if he wants to stay near Granger without constantly having to worry about it...
-
George got to capture a whole island. I have to say this was somewhat unexpected. I can only think this is make him even more popular back home. Granger just has the perfect touch to handle any situation. He seems to handle everything that comes to him with just the right touch.
-
I truly hope that Granger takes his grandfather's advice. It is sound and would benefit him more than I think even he realizes. I am glad that George stood up for what is right. It was the right thing to do for both him and the young man. Glad to see that Jervis was willing to listen to him..
-
Damn, what a suprise, Granger's grandfather has a special friend to. George would do well to take his advice and find someone special, not Calvert though. I do find it interesting that Granger ends up with so many from a slightly lower class of men and sailors.
-
Well, like a bad penny, Calvert keeps turning up. I can't say I would blame Caroline if she worked to have Calvert moved. Unlike Travers, he did nothing to get close to her or flatter her. Granger finally gets to meet his grandfather.
-
Starting to wonder if there is going to be anyone on this voyage that Granger doesn't decide to sleep with. I know he is young but still he needs to be a little more discrete. I don't think there would be anyone that on this ship but you never know...
-
A new young midshipman for Granger to get use to and try to help. I have to believe this one will be interesting. I do miss FitzWilliams. I have to wonder how Granger will get along with his Grandfather. He has been mentioned once or twice but I don't think Granger has ever get him in person.
-
Another lover? Jardines sounds very manly and hot. I can't imagine how hot that encounter was. Damn, another 10,000 pounds, Granger could just stay home and gamble and do pretty good.
-
Interesting all the way around, although I do think the situation with Spencer was very well handled by Granger. This is something that could have easily turned messy. Hot way to end the chapter...
-
Lucky with prizes and now he gets to rescue a head of state. Granger is just always in the right place at the right time and luckily knows how to take advantage of the situation.
-
I bet that the Doctor will find that those with fever are soon up and doing better than expected as soon as they are out of sight of Madras. Will these Wilcox never learn? Bertie is so much like a child, George seems so much older and more mature than he does so much of the time.
-
Granger is going to have to play this situation just right. Bertie has pulled him into his scheme by the simple fact that Granger will not expose him at this point. It was masterful the way that Granger got the Rattlesnake back and handled the situation with the French.
-
Glad that Granger saved Barney, he just paid him back by saving him and the ship. It is amazing how a different size in guns can influence the outcome in unexpected ways.
-
Wilcox is going to rue the day he engaged Granger in this manner. I don't know when or where but it will come back to bite him. Granger is getting richer by the moment, of course depending on what Caroline is spending on Brentwood he maybe in the hole even with these riches.
