  1. I gave quite a bit of thought to this and I am of two minds; do they use a song from 1999 that was popular, one from their youths, or one of the classics. I thought about "Someday" by Sugar Ray and "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam if they went modern. From their youths, I would go with "Endless Love" by Diana Ross and "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. For the classics, I would pick "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack and "You've Got A Friend" by Carole King. I really think that Robbie is more romantic and more tied to the past, so I think "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Roberta Flack would be a good choice for him. For Brad, I could see him going a little more outside the box; I think Brad's should be "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper. I really think that they should also have a different type of wedding march, I pick " The Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet" by Henry Mancini. What does everyone else think???
  2. :ranger: :ranger: :ranger: Mark, who knew you were such a Cupid, I did!!!!! Loved Loved Loved this chapter, # 59, was just picture perfect.... I agree that Robbie taking Brad back to where it all began was just lovely on his part. The idea of JP and Stef and Frank and Isidore walking them down the aisle is great as well. I sort of like the idea of Darius falling for Ella, would be a different twist on that family history. I think that Claire will be the one to take her under her wing, I know that Stef has great taste and don't doubt for a minute that he could dress a woman; that being said, Ella would probably be more comfortable and Claire would be more tied into what a young lady her age was wearing because of her own daughter. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next chapter.
  3. Chapter 58 was interesting........ I think the interplay between Harry and Gathan although very brief was very telling... Another mixing of the families without a move to California being involved might put a different spin on things... Father Tim and Max in Claremont taking on Rev and Mrs White might make for an excellent story line. I don't think that Father Tim and Max would move there permenately but setting up a facility there might take some time. A clash of religious cultures can always be entertaining. As far as the secret between the Danfields and Carmicheals, I had already thought of the fact that the two women had possibly had an affair or some type of sexual involvement at one point. They both came from very wealthy backgrounds and chances are they met at cotillion, private schools, college, or during the season; it really is a small world at a certain level of high society. However, I think that the secret is darker than that, still not sure what it is but it seems to be more complex than a school girl involvement. Can't wait for the next chapter, keep up the great work Mark....
  4. Another good chapter, this story is at 57 and could easily go to 100 chapters, in my humble opinion... You just knew that JP was going to get a house in Claremont to really show that he and the family are back; seems strange that the people don't seem to have as good of a view of JP's brother Jim and that bunch as they do of JP and his family, who has been gone for years... I think there is going to be a doozy of a secret that links the Carmicheals and Danfields... There is something going on there that will shift the battle more than we think, just hope it doesn't get to many people hurt in the process... I can't wait to see how Matt and Wade handle the idea of being fathers; I think they will have more to think about then they realized when they slept with Tiffany in an attempt to get her pregnate. Can't wait for the next chapter... holding my breathe til I pass out...
  5. Well, I want that flashback story to this event. This wasn't just any character, this was Tonto!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I miss George as well, as much as I love the CAP series, I can't wait for this one to pick back up... I do agree that writing stories from this far is the past takes more time for research and authenticity issues; so no matter how much I want or need a fix, I know Mark is working as fast as he can... I would think because of how far in the past this story is that the future would be almost unlimited for the number of future stories. I look forward to years of enjoyment from this series...
  7. I cannot imagine that Brad, Robbie, Matt, or Wade will not be in the life of any child they fathered irregardless of who the primary parent is; that just isn't in the nature for any of them. I do think that Matt and Wade would have more issues to deal with than either Brad or Robbie but that is due to more the level of maturity and where they are in life than anything else. The issue with Stef being bored is something that is more internal to his character to me; he is so afraid of aging that it maybe coming out in unexpected ways. Although I have come to really enjoy the character of Stef, I have always felt he could fall into a caricture of the aging queen always chasing the fleeting sweetness of youth but never being able to recapture it. Although Mark seems to indicate nothing will come of this, I have to wonder... I can't remember if it was here or on Mark's Yahoo group that someone brought up how Matt and Wade would afford things after college; families at that level almost always have trust established that would give a certain income to the individual, often without having access to the principal. Although neither would probably have to work, I can't imagine either of them just turning into a dilletante...
  8. I had to answer JP, from those listed he is the one person that has always been there and done what had to be done to protect the family and secure the future. I can say that while I like Brad, Stef, Matt, Jeff, etc... that Tonto is the only other person in the story that I wholeheartedly loved and admired... That is the only major mistep that Mark ever made for me, the fact that Tonto didn't get the send off that she deserved. I actually stopped reading the series for a while when it was announced she died, I felt this was done rather flippantly and never was handled in a way that befitted a character of her importance. Of course, I could not stay away but to this day, that is the one false step in this series. I didn't have an issue with her death, she was elderly and had led a great life but the whole way of her death just passing by never felt right to me... :(
  9. Loved Loved Loved Chapter 56, this story just keeps getting better and better... I could see this story in the series going to one hundred chapters easily, there is just so much going on.... I just knew that both Jeanine and Tiffany were both going to end up pregnate, this just creates so many lovely possibilities... I do think Brad is right though, I am not sure that Matt or Wade reallly thought of all of the issues they will have to be dealing with but this is gonna be good... I can't wait til Mark decides who the fathers are going to be. I hope that this story continues to jump back and forth into Claremont, there seems to be a wealth of new areas to pull from there now. I realize that with the business side and the battle coming down the pike, we can't keep everything focused there but don't want to go to long without a Claremont fix... Keep up the great job and when is the next chapter coming, Mark??? :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
  10. Really enjoyed Chapter 55... I have always liked when the story goes back to Claremont; for me some of the best chapters in all of the stories have taken place in there. I agree with earlier comments that the mixture of the Claremont and California kids may cause a few waves. Wonder if Gathan only accepted the scholarship to Ohio State because they couldn't afford to send him to Stanford, his going there would bring him into Matt and Wade's field of orbit. And no, I am not knocking Ohio State but between the two, you would think Stanford would generally be the better choice, depending on what you wanted to major in of course. Nick knowing who is on the honor role isn't that far out of the realm of possibility... In a small town, I am guessing that Claremont is probably less than 15,000; the mayor would probably know information like that... Small towns are much more interdependent on different political, social, economic forces working together and being aware of what is going on in all levels of the community. I actually didn't think that Brad's behaviour at the country club was snobbish... He just didn't want Gathan to be embaressed by not knowing what was going on there, the men's room was probably the only place to drag him into on short notice to have some privacy to give a few hints. This was an act of kindness not snobbery. I have seen people thrown into situations like that that were really hurt by comments from others when it became obvious that they were not use to being in a place like that, Brad just wanted to shield him from that. As always, keep up the good work Mark and can't wait for the next chapter...
  11. I always thought the sex between Sam and JP was really hot... Sort of suprises me that Stef went there as back then he seemed to view Sam as very much a servant and was sort of rude toward him... I was actually just talking the other day with someone about what happened to Sam, the last mention that either of us could find was Vela talking to JP about him after he came back from France and Jeff had lied to her about JP cutting him off because he was rude to them when they went to visit. The last time Sam actually appeared in the story as far as I could find was when JP was touring and giving the lecture about Vietnam and they had to go through the picket lines to see him when the Black Panthers had seized that building on campus....
  12. I'm still looking for someone who can tell me what e-stim is like. Maybe I'll write that in eventually. That is the use of electrical currents during sex... You will normally attach electrodes to certain sensetive areas and control the current running through them. You have to really trust the person though because that can go from being fun and hot to painful and used for hurting or punishment in a heartbeat...
  13. Have we even established how old Gathan is? I re-read the story and nothing seems to indicate if he is in high school or older, or did I miss it? I also don't seem to understand the Hayes bashing, maybe it isn't bashing but that is what it comes across as to me. The family seems to be permenately intertwined and I don't see Mark dropping them from the story, so what gives???

    Chapter 54

:worship: :worship: One of the best chapters in this story.....
  16. Chapter 54 is up at least on Mark's group and what a great chapter it is... I am really glad that some of the action is going to be moved back to Claremont; as screwed up as the town ended up being, I really believe some of the best of the earlier chapters took place there... Having some of the action move back there is like going full circle, JP et al couldn't wait to escape or move away but now their sense of noblesse oblige has kicked in and the have to come back and try to save the place; after all the family has some strong French roots and being tied to once past is very much apart of the French mindset. I have to admit that the play in the " love den " actually sort of bored me, as well written as it was, this story is just so much more for me than about sex... Not saying that I don't enjoy the stories forays into that at times but.... I knew that we would have to bring Wade's parents back into the story orbit with the idea of working with a Defense contractor and can't wait to see how that is explored. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next chapter....
  17. Enjoyed Chapter 52, it was nice finding out more about Brad's Bio-Dad... It is easy to see how the trauma that followed the appearance of his Bio-Dad caused him to block out the visit. The only good thing that Brad's mother ever did for him was to take him to JP and Isidore's before she killed herself. She was at least lucid enough to know that he would always be safe and loved there; some part of her must have cared enought to want him to be safe... The chapter still is not showing everywhere, if you don't follow the link it is hard to find. Hope that Gay Authors completes there changes and it becomes easier to use...
  18. Damn, the last part of Chapter 51 was just great... I am so happy that Brad got to met his biological father, even if he just remembered it in a flashback. Brad can now know that his bio-dad did care about him, that may help him on more than one level. I wonder if Stef by telling different influential people that he believes the tech market is over-priced doesn't in the story end up pushing the market toward the bubble busting events. Sometimes it only takes one or two people that the markets really listen too to effect the market as a whole... I do agree with others that while hate can motivate someone toward a goal it will generally make it harder to reach that same goal; hate does often blind you to the truth and facts that might lead you away from what you want to accomplish. While using hate as a motivating tool is easy to start with, the complication is brings makes it messy and usually to destructive to be effective. The story just keeps getting better and better and I can't wait to see how it all turns out; great job on this one Mark and keep up the good work!!!!
  19. :worship: Just have to say that chapter 50 was great... The interplay between Brad and Lark was pitch perfect. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed all of this. Lark seems to realize that he had turned into a complete ass in his old life; I hope he takes this chance for a new one to make something special of his future. I didn't even think about the detective that is being such a jerk as being on the other sides payroll but it does make perfect sense. He was just going way past what would normally have been done at this point in an apparent suicide. Loved Brad coming home to Robbie and the scene that played out there, it was just fantastic. I think that those to are just perfect for each other. I don't see anything other than death ever coming between them again. On a totally non story issue, what the hell is going on with gay authors home page? Does anyone know? I have stuff listed from today along with stuff as far back as December 17th just interspaced in... It is completely confusing... Mark keep up the great work, eagerly awaiting the next chapter....
  20. Angel or Devil, not sure which you are Mark.... Great chapter and hope the wait isn't too long... Brad was really skirting the issue with Robbie to me but at least he kept his pants on. I was sure that Lark was still alive and there he was. Keep up the great work....
  21. :worship: This is truly one of the best chapters in this story... I loved everything about it until the end... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING...... I MAY HAVE A BREAKDOWN...... HAVE YOU NO SENSE OF DECENCY... Okay, i am calmer now but still need the next chapter quickly before I go off the boil again...
  22. Oh, I don't know about that... I never thought that Robbie was all to blame in this... I do think Robbie acted immaturely and brought some of this on himself but in my opinion, Brad's behaviour in this story and the several leading up to it was more to blame than Robbie's. Brad has always had a my way or the highway attitude about himself and in several of the recent stories has been on the verge of being emotionally and verbally abusive toward Robbie. So while Robbie asked for the seperation and may have gotten more than he bargained for... it was not all his fault.... Now, having said that; I hope that they do end up together... I have always believed that Brad and Robbie were destined to be together but they both need to be more aware of the feelings of each other....
  23. Well well well.... Hope that Lark doesn't prove to be as untrustworthy as he has been in the past... I could see him going to Dan saying I want out, but if you pay enough, I will pass whatever you want onto Brad; Dan get the fake financials together and then an even worse fake set to make it look like the first set is legitemate. Maybe I am just giving them to much credit for being devious but given Lark's past escapades I would not put it past him. What is the saying about laying down with dogs??? I actually like the interplay and yes, even the sex, between Brad/Robbie and Cody/Kevin. While I do worry some that Robbie could end up with more feelings toward Cody than Brad would be comfortable with; I don't see that happening. I have always felt that Brad and Robbie were meant to be together, even since high school. I just truly believe that in the end they will do whatever it takes to stay together. I know a lot of people don't seem to like Cody or Kevin much, I admit that I do on both counts; but I think their relationship is more at risk. They are just starting to get together and that is such a fragile stage for any relationship. If the information that Lark provided is real, then let the real battle begin... The information should give them good ideas on where the pressure points and who the other key players are in the corporation. Keep up the great work...:2hands: :2hands: :2hands:
  24. Well, I just read Chapter 46 and don't even know where to start... The scene on the beach with Brad, JP, and Isidore was just heartbreaking; we have had so many truly interesting people come and go in this series and it was so nice to take a moment and remember some of them.... :( I have always been like that on New Years Eve; I always get retrospective and spend half the night thinking of those that have touched my life, whether they are gone or still around. I just found the tone of that whole experience perfect... I also really liked the back and forth between Brad and Robbie the whole night; they really seem to be back in a good place and I for one hope that it stays that way from now on. Much like JP and Stef, I think that Robbie and Brad were meant for each other. I will say that I think that Brad has also figured out that he cares for Cody as more than just a friend. I don't know what is going to happen there but as long as it doesn't cause issues with him and Robbie; I am all for it. I really liked that Stef and Will maybe getting closer; Will has always seemed sort of lost to me and maybe with his new openess with Brad and his move to get closer to Stef, he will become more of a complete person. I hope that over the next few stories we get to see more of all the kids. We all know that because of the burst in the tech market that Brad, Stef, et al... will win the fight with the Carmicheals and Brian; I just hope that everyone manages to hold onto their souls while fighting it out. A truly great chapter that had something for everyone; I do think the scene on the beach was the best though....
  25. :worship: :worship: :worship: Loved the newest chapter of this story, it just keeps getting better and better. I do agree that Granger seems to be more comfortable at sea but with his family and all, some time on land would be a requirement, I would think. I love how Mark seems to be able to bring to live so vividly the reality of the times these people lived and existed. I do realize that the research is quite extensive, you can tell that by the level of authentic detail. Keep up the good work, this story is starting to rival CAP, at least in my mind...
