In the land between the rivers, near the banks of the river Tigris, lies a sleepy village where something dark is stirring. In Devon’s world, love is free and sex is fun. Unfortunately, not everyone shares his openness, which is really inconvenient when he finds himself deeply attracted to a former fling’s boyfriend. Maybe there is a chance, though. After all, things have a tendency to turn out okay in the end for Devon.

‘But, Ronan . . .’

‘Hm?’

‘You’re gay.’ Andi hears the quaver of his own voice and clears his throat again.

‘Yeah,’ Ronan says slowly. ‘And you’re a guy.’

Ronan has been there for Andi since he began his transition. Now he wants to come visit and Andi is overjoyed, but he can't quite bring himself to believe that Ronan is truly interested in him, when his body isn't exactly what most gay men would want.
