Just his luck - 1. Chapter 1

CHAPTER ONE
Theo come on it’s time to go.” Geneva Jackson called from the PAsystem in the kitchen of their 17th century ten bedroom house. TheJackson family lived like royalty and it was just as well since wealth andprestige were inherited traits rather than achieved ones; not that they didn’thave to work to maintain it.

“Really Mom, I thought I heard a rumor that school didn’t resumeuntil tomorrow.” Theodore Jackson said cantering to a halt at the top of thethree flight stairwell. He considered fora moment whether to honor or disregard his morning routine of sliding down thebanister.

“Get your bag anyway, we’ll swing by and if there are no classes, which I doubt is the case, I’m early enough to take you back home.”

“Shit, you’re no fun,” Theo said mounting the banister to beginhis five second glide. It was fun; a bitimmature for a boy of fifteen nonetheless the thrill of the rush always calmedhis nerves.

“Grow up Theo. you’re getting too old for that.” Geneva said as helanded with a heavy thump at her feet.

“Where’s Dad?”

“Fuck if I know, he’s probably out getting his ass rimmed. Godknows I could use a good f—”

“Jesus Mom!” Theo exclaimed covering his ears and escaping as fastas he could to the kitchen. Altidore the butler was making eggs and bacon withpancakes for breakfast but instead of grabbing a plate Theo took an apple fromthe fruits bowl on the counter.

“Not eating today Theodore?”Altidore asked as Theo took a bite outof the apple.

“Sorry Al, Mom made me lost my appetite.”

“All I said was that—”

Give it a rest Mom!” Theo nearly screamed as he made his way tofrom the kitchen to the garage.

Theo was the youngest son for Graham Jackson and the only one forGeneva. Geneva had adopted a 6 month oldgirl from South Africa, her name was Cytheria and she was now 2 years old. Graham on the other hand fathered twochildren from his previous marriage both of whom were enrolled in DitoriaUniversity. Theo was a real looker, hehad golden brown hair which he grew out and wore at shoulder length. He had the same smooth creamy whitecomplexion, dazed blue eyes, rose pink lips and straight nose as hismother. He was slim built with subtlemuscles, an exact replica of his father at that age. If he wanted Theo could have been the mostbeautiful boy in school but it was never his style to live above or even closeto the attention radar.

“Seatbelt,” Geneva said as Theo started the engine of his newFerrari 550 Barchetta. It was a flaming red convertible with conspicuous bulletdesigns all over the car. In exactly twoweeks Theo would turn 16 and according to family tradition he would receive hisfirst mode of transportation which was handpicked by the youngest member of thefamily. Unluckily for Theo she was only 2 years old and was only interested inpretty shiny bright colored things. “Thanks Cye,” was all Theo could have saidwhen the car arrived on the weekend before school was to begin. Custom alsodictated that the car be test-driven approximately two weeks before the newowners birthday and that meant that Theo had to drive his car to school on thefirst day back from the Christmas holiday. All his life, Theo had committed himself to avoiding unnecessaryattention and all his hard work would be undone before his very eyes

The first thing Antonio Caparelli saw when he arrived at MaukoHigh School was a red Ferrari parked haphazardly on the side pavement leadingto the entrance of the school building. It was a beauty to behold but nothing compared to the boy who steppedfrom the vehicle. He was attired in greyjeans a couple sizes too small, a long sleeve white shirt with a black woolsweater. A woman also stepped out of thepassenger side of the car. Theresemblance was uncanny and so Toni quickly discarded the notion of a girlfriendand settled for the more likely story of her being his mother. The woman smoothed the boy’s hair and thenkissed him daintily on the cheek. Heheld the driver’s door open for her and then closed it after she had gottenin. He was not smug about his obviouswealth but instead shyness resonated from every fiber of his being. As soon asthe car drove away, the boy made his way into the school with his head helddown and his book bag slung neatly over his shoulder. Everyone stared as he passed but no one spoketo the boy and from inside of his black and silver Toyota Camry Hybrid, Tonihad found his first friend.

Toni had moved from Ditoria with his family to the little state ofMauko. His family was of an Italianbackground and so trouble tended to seek them out. It was less likely that any of the Caparelliscould land into trouble in a state as small as this one but they weren’tcounting their eggs before they hatched. Angela Caparelli was a house wife by choice and an artist byprofession. She had many paintings anddrawings on display in art museums all over the world. She worked under an alias for securitypurposes and it made life easier for her children since any special treatmentand attention they got was based on their works. Bernard Caparelli on the other hand was likethe godfather. He operated a largeenterprise which was legally registered as an escort service but deep down andknown only by relatives and a selected few of their friends Capa-Bears Escortswas the largest guns and drug corporation in the entire world. They operated out of Ditoria, Espilce andJamaica, the latter being the smallest chain. They were like the Wal-Mart of the drug world. Of course, Toni knew allabout the family business in fact he was in line to take over the operations.

In his former schools Toni was known for three things: athletics, academics and ass. He never met a girlhe didn’t want to fuck but what only his family knew and what no one wouldnever ever suspect was that Toni had a soft spot for men too. He was always bi-sexual and that part of himwas now activated at the sight of that sweet innocent boy. He wanted him and the only problem would bewhether the boy would feel the same way.

Theo stood at his locker reading a paperback the same wayhe did every morning as he waited for the bell which signaled the beginning ofyet another blasé day at school. A groupof giggling girls nearby encouraged him to look up that’s when he saw him. Anew face, the most handsome face Theo had ever seen. For a moment he’d forgotten about the book inhis hand and stared uncharacteristically at the boy who was looking around theroom. Finally their eyes met and the boysmiled, then began walking hurriedly to the place where Theo stood. Theo panicked and as fast as he could startto stuff his book in his bag, set the combination on his locker and turned toleave but the boy was standing right there.

“Hi,” Toni said smiling beautifully and revealing an evenset of pearly white teeth. He was tallerthan Theo by about 5 inches and had more defined muscles. He had a perfect tanned complexion, hazeleyes, well defined cheek bones and cherry red lips. “Could you show me to theAdmissions Office?” he asked

“Ah, sure,” Theo replied the surprise registering both onhis face and in his voice.

“I’m Antonio Caparelli by the way, but you can call meToni.” He introduced

“Theodore Jackson,” Theo said taking the hand Tonipresented for a handshake. Theo’s hand was cool to the touch and very softwhich contrasted with Toni’s more manly coarse texture.

Theo led the way up a flight of stairs which led to thethird floor corridor where both the language lab and Admissions andConsultation was located.

“Thanks Jackson,” Toni said then he turned and rapped onthe door. A small voice from withinanswered and Theo made his way down the corridor to his first class of theday. As was customary, Theo took hisseat at the back of the class and just as he removed his Spanish text book andhis novel the bell rang. The studentsfiled in without acknowledging Theo’s presence and took their respective seatsin and around the vicinity of the front of the class.

Mr. Fernandez entered the class five minutes after thebell and with him, to Theo’s surprise was Toni. A smile spread across Toni’s face as soon as he saw Theo and he wasabout to make his way to him when Mr. Fernandez stopped him.

“Good morning students, we have a new student with ustoday, his name is Antonio Caparelli.” Mr. Fernandez introduced Toni began tomove again but once again he was stopped. “Tell us a little about yourself thenyou may take a seat.”

“Like he said, I’m Antonio Caparelli, American by birth,Italian by nurture and as far as the stereotypes go I like food, love sex andcan’t live without money.” Toni said all the time staring at Theo and smiling.

“Interesting,” was all Mr. Fernandez said as Toni made hisway to the back of the class amidst the murmurs and snickers from the students.

“Hello again,” Toni said taking the seat next to Theo.

“If I could have all your attention now,” Mr. Fernandezcalled as the entire class had turned in their seats to openly stare at the twoboys.

Theo was unable to concentrate on the lesson being taughtdue in part to Toni’s closeness and the stares which found then whenever Mr.Fernandez’s back was turned. Finally theclass ended and as always Theo was the last to leave the room. As he exited the room he encountered Toni.

‘What’s your next class?” He asked.

“Algebra,” Theo replied wanting to add ‘Why do you care’but didn’t.

“Crap, guess I chose wrong, I have trigonometry. Well I’ll see you at lunch then.” Toni said

“L-lunch?” Theo stammered

“There’s a problem?”

“Other than the fact that I’m the last person you’d wannabe seen with since most people usually go out of their way not to see me, nothere’s no problem.” Theo answeredsarcastically. “Maybe you should consider sitting with someone more.... moresociable.” Toni laughed and then as though they were pals from as far back askindergarten Toni threw an arm around Theo’s shoulder.

“You’re pathetic,” Toni said as they entered the Mathcorridor. “See you at lunch,” and with that he left Theo at the door marked MR2.

Trigonometry seemed to go on forever. It was a 2 hourssession with heavy flirtation from most of the girls in the class. Finally the bell rang and Toni was the firstperson to leave the classroom. Theolived up to Toni’s expectation of being shy and innocent. He was also veryhonest and very noble two of the most important traits Toni looked for in apartner.

The cafeteria was pack and as Toni grabbed a tray andchose his desired lunch he scanned the tables for any sign of Theo.

“Hey Antonio,” Marsha Andrews one of the flirters fromTrig class and head cheerleader called. She was the type of girl Toni would have gone out with but hisinclinations were now towards Theo and suddenly the thought of being with agirl annoyed him. “You wanna sit withus?” she asked smiling her dimpled smile.

“Ah, thoughtful of you to ask but I’d rather not,” Tonireplied with mock polity. The girls atthe table gasped as apparently no one had ever declined an invitation to sit atwhat was evidently the cool table.

“Why are you always hiding?” Toni asked as he had foundTheo at the extreme back of the cafeteria with next to no one else there excepta couple of science nerds and even they were ahead of him.

“It is second nature to me,” Theo replied with a reservedsmile.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Toni asked looking at the bottleof water and potato chips Theo had in front of him.

“What do you call this?”

“Snack, how can you go through an entire day of schoolwith nothing but that in your stomach?”

“That’s my first nature.” Theo replied finally looking upfrom his tray when Toni laughed.

“So where do you live?”

“Ah, just off J-Grove,” Theo replied trying not to soundconceited.

“No need to be modest with me Jackson, I can tell you’renot one to boast, you might be spoiled but it’s not your fault.” Toni repliedchuckling

“I’m not spoilt and I try not to be conceited that’s partof the reason I stay away from people.”

“Well you can’t stay away from me. I’m on to you.” Toni said eating the last ofhis turkey sandwich. “I live like thirtyminutes from Jackson Grove. You know theCarter Estate?”

“Nope, I don’t really get out much.” Theo replied again flushing red.

“Wonderful, would you like to come over after school?”

“Me?” Theo asked stupidly

“Well, you’re the only one sitting with me aren’t you? Sowhat do you say?” Theo was still lostfor words again, something that had been happening too often since he met Toni.“It’s alright if you don’t wanna, I’ll understand.”

“Nofile:///C:/Users/DAC/AppData/Local/Temp/msohtmlclip1/01/clip_image004.jpg I mean of course I’d love to come,”

“That can be arranged,” Toni mumbled

“What?”

“Please tell me you take Chemistry.” Toni said changingthe topic. Thinking about Theo in asexual way was giving him a hard on and lunch time was almost over.

“Yea that’s my next session.”

“And then what?”

“Uhm, Info Tech,”

“Fuck me, I never figured you for the computer type, Ithought you were more of the equation and formula guy so I chose Physics. GuessI could get a switch after school.” Toni said popping his soda and taking aswig.

“Are you telling me that you signed up for all the classesyou thought I’d be in?”

“Yup, after all I’m the new kid and you’re my only friend.”Toni replied with that same alluring smile.

“Only because you want me to be,” Theo mumbled a hint ofred on his cheeks.

“Come on we’re gonna be late,” Toni said and just then thebell rang.

I really like the story, but it's very difficult to read when your space bar only works occasionally.

I originally copied and pasted the story from a word document so the format was a little different and that contributed. I'll edit it asap.. but thanks for your review
