Mr. Brightside - 24. Chapter 24

epilogue

The sun was just beginning its descent, crimson and lavender bleeding from the sky into the azure water. Guests of the luxurious resort had already started to gather for dinner on the platform overlooking the private beach.

Torches, chairs, a small gathering of guests, and a minister standing under a flowered arch showed that a wedding was being held there. The plaintive opening strains of “Somewhere over the Rainbow began” as pretty strawberry haired woman in an emerald green dress was led down the aisle by a muscular man in white linen.

They were followed by three men. The older man in the middle was tall, with a military bearing. He was flanked by a young man with chestnut hair and another one whose locks gleamed gold in the setting sun. When they reached the arch, the older man hugged them both, before stepping back to join the other guests.

As the ceremony began, waiters moved among the diners, passing flutes of Taittinger champagne. “Complimentary. In honor of the grooms,” they whispered. As the two grooms kissed at the behest of the marriage official, the maitre d’ singled for a toast. Startled by the noise coming from the terrace, the two grooms, glanced up at the desk to see the cheering crowd raising champagne glasses. Realizing what was happening, they smiled and waved.

At the back of the terrace, in the shadows of an arched loggia, two men stood. One was tall and elegant, his deep tan a startling contrast to his icy blue eyes. Beside him was a muscular man, his impressive build filling his impeccably tailored white linen suit.

“The boys did good, Mr. P.,” the muscular man said, raising his flute in salute.

“Yes, they did Ramon,” said Victor Pamchenko, clinking his glass against Ramon’s. “Yes they did.”

Normally for me to label a story as a soap opera is not a good thing, but right from the start this was filled with drama and intrigue, and to the end it did not disappoint. The last 2 chapters felt rushed with not enough details about each rescue. Happy to see our boys finally got their HEA. Sorry to see this come to an end. :(

honestly, I was going for a soap opera, slightly over the top vibe, so I'm happy with the label. Sorry if the ending felt rushed. I didn't want to drag it out artificially, so I might have erred on the other side. And it's still in the early stages, but I'm tentatively planning another story focusing on Thomas in the Witness Protection Program.

Loved the ending. Jason and Shane are safe and happy and thanks to Viktor, their future is financially secure. Yay!
The only thing that could have made it better is if Viktor and Ramon could have remained a part of their lives. Then again, they have managed to get close, so maybe there is hope for a meet up in their future. I wouldn't put it past Viktor to pull that off somehow.

Oh no! The end!!! :(:(

I'm sad to see this story come to a close, but I'm thrilled J&S finally got their HEA! :D:D

And now they're millionaires, thanks to Viktor!!

This was a wonderful story, Mitchelll. I always looked forward to reading each new chapter. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I actually had the epilogue planned since early in the story. It's how I wanted it all to end.

Thanks so much for reading. I tend to read for wish fullfillment, so I decided to give the boys 10,000,000 and a destination wedding.

This has been a great adventure! I agree with Petey, the end seemed a little rushed. But I enjoyed the journey and the HEA. Thomas in the witness protection program might be an interesting story, but he'll have to suffer some remorse and have a change of heart if he's going to become a character I care for. Very well written. Thanks. Jeff

Don't worry, Thomas will suffer. What's a GA story without some angst?
