Cider Press - 6. Dialogue
Fall is often the time for an intimate talk in front of the fire.
Dialogue
There stands a simple bungalow,
with cozy couch and lights down low,
a fire before which you and I
might snuggle while the embers glow.
Your arm goes round my shoulders high,
I kiss your lips, and they reply;
our conversation swells apace
in words enough to make me sigh.
Our hands discuss our altered case
in dialogue of fevered grace;
no idle chatter do we spend
as buttons fly and knots unlace.
Your fingers' probing questions end
my feeble hopes to comprehend
the pleasures of our discourse slow
until my substance you expend.
Leave a remark or comment, if you like. I will be glad of your words.
