Cider Press - 1. Cider Press

The time to savor the ripeness of the harvest is here...

Cider Press

Now take me to your secret lair
out in the barn, beneath the stair,
and lay me out as you desire
to press your weight upon me there.

And while I am as you require
within that place where we retire,
the season's tastes I will express
are warmer than an autumn fire.

My blushing skin will you undress,
beneath you all my moves confess,
my urgent need to be remade,
so by your arts my body bless.

Transform me then, I'm not afraid,
for in your loving arms I've stayed,
give me your answer to my prayer
that I'll recall when I am greyed.

Thank you, Moggy. I am glad this brought you plenty of memories and deep-scented warmth.

Another beautiful offering Parker. You have such an eloquence with the English language. The piece was sensual and left me sensing the spices of the season. Well done.

Thank you for reading this. It was fun creating the appeal to the senses, and if you felt connected to them through this, then the poem was effective. Again, thank you.

...I don't know... the process is all so graphic... the crushing of the apples and then the pressing... the original is destroyed, and all for the juice. Do I want to think of my dear friend worked through such an irreversible process? Are you only worth the juice you contain? I think I'd like you whole and perfect, just picked from the tree.

This poem gave me thoughts and images to ponder. Looking forward to more of the "Cider Press" collection.

You acutely voice my own doubts. Such a pressing irreversibly transforms, and so we ask if the experience is worth the transformation. I am very glad you find things to ponder in this, that there are questions or images that stick with you. And thank you so much for reading from this collection!

Sorry, I'm late, but I couldn't access this when first posted... tried a couple of times. Loved the double entendre of this. So beautifully conveyed, Parker. Loved it! Cheers... Gary....

There was a glitch when I posted it at first, so I am glad you found it again. The multiple meanings give the flavor added depth, I think. Glad you enjoyed this.
