Poetry Prompts - 2. Tanka #2

excellent poem Sir.  do You have those things near You?  they are ... are ... scary?   yikes.

A poem that's personal and uses nature as its catalyst. It's a fine Tanka that makes me want to hug you 

And cat-faced spider...creepy image...  

i don't "do" critters with more than 4 legs & usually there is a scream. 😱

however, Sir, Your spider is portrayed as human, waiting patiently for the payoff. much as we do.

Patience is a great thing. ..however sometimes we need to reach out and grab the brass ring. Excellent poem, Mac!

@Mikiesboy I see them a lot. This one's been making a web across the front of my porch every day. She perches in the middle and waits. I'm sure she gets bugs at night, when the porch light is on, but I never see evidence.

I definitely see similarities with the spider's determination and my own resolve. Nature can be a reflection of ourselves. But I also marvel how the spider persists on weaving a new web every day. I don't know if that's determination or foolishness.

Especially when the brass ring is attached to a boy. Hehe. I get stuck between productiveness and not reaping the rewards, and that is something I'm working on.

Rings can be attached in a number of ways. They can mean a lot, they are great symbols and reminders of ownership, love, duty, and remembrance.  Of course there are other rings too...as you say, hehe. Nice poem, freaky spider!  Yet, fascinating also.

Great tanka, Mac.. Spider pic, not so much...just as the memory of walking into a web at my screen door was starting to fade. 😖

No harm meant with the sharing of the pic. Walking into a giant web is never a fun experience.
