By MacGreg, in Fiction. 11/26/2016 (Updated: 04/08/2019)

Denial is a lonely path. Lack of honesty is divisive. And self-loathing is a destructive force that's difficult to overcome. 'Dissonance' is a tale that centers around Ben Mansfield and Travis Cooper: two characters from very different backgrounds who, after a chance meeting one night, must learn to face the discordant elements that have fractured their lives and prevented them from finding love and acceptance - especially within themselves.

By MacGreg, in Poetry. 07/30/2018 (Updated: 01/19/2019)

  6. Idiom Prompt - Crack Someone Up

By MacGreg, in Fiction. 04/27/2018 (Updated: 04/29/2018)

From a dimly-lit booth at Ricci's restaurant, Jeremy dines on linguine and fine wine while waiting for the occasional client to require his expertise - but only on Tuesday nights, and only if the price is right.

A contribution to Cia's story prompt, using the idiom "crack someone up" in a literal way.

  9. Bullets and Butterflies

By MacGreg, in Fiction. 03/02/2017 (Updated: 03/02/2017)

*A snippet of a larger concept that I've tinkered around with and may return to down the road.*

Matt Donovan realizes that his relationship with Charlie isn't the secret he thought it was. Others within in his small fishing community are opening their eyes to his reality, including his one true crush, the outspoken, gruff-around-the-edges Jake Kowalczyk, who himself begins to discover that his feelings for Matt go beyond a platonic friendship after Matt almost dies.

  10. Bridging the Distance

By MacGreg, in Fiction. 02/14/2017 (Updated: 02/14/2017)

On occasion, a long-distance love affair becomes reality, bridging the gap between mere fantasy and real-life passion.

(This short story is several years old, but I thought I'd share.)
