A very pure, thoroughly enjoyable, sweet-without-being-saccharine coming

out story that manages to both entertain and teach important life lessons. Even in this early effort, Ronyx’s talent is easy to spot.

This story is a tonic, especially in tough times. You’ll 💖 it!

If you’re looking for a Ronyx story in easy to digest bite-sized chunks, this is the one to read! Chapters are much shorter than in his later work, but this was his very first story. Ron’s talent shines even from the beginning. ;–)

This was the first story I read from Ron 13 years ago. Gary gets outed at School by his best friend. We follow Gary as he discovers love, friendship, forgiveness and understanding in this fantastic tale. Well worth reading.

I echo the sentiments expressed by my fellow reviewers, particularly those of @raven1.

I liken reading this story to visiting the back catalogue of a musical artist one discovers later in their career; a joy to witness the growth of an artist who displayed a unique and delightful talent from the get go. Invariably I find such artists are like @Ronyx in that they hold their appeal for far longer than those who provide instant gratification. Revisiting his stories is a pleasure to derive time and time again as was this case with this one, his charming and entertaining debut.

I enjoyed this tale of young love and the problems of coming out. Gary's hopes for love are shattered by his best friend Shaun. How Gary deals with this is a simple but beautiful love story that highlights Gary's strength and compassion. Gary's mom, the Her in the title, is a beautifully portrayed hero with a great sense of humor she uses to diffuse difficult situations. Simply a very good first novella by a very talented writer, Apple of Her Eye features many of the strengths Ronyx built upon in later works. I gave it 5 stars after considering it was his first work, but honestly he now writes much more elegant, complex and thoughtful novels. Consider this as a historical view of his writing. It is a very worthy story and I recommend you read it.

For a first story attempt that was a great presentation on GA. If you ask me, I would say i is one of the better ones posted here. Thank you @Ronyx for all of your postings!
