The Voice is back - 1. Don't Go There
Not a prompt but being I don't write poetry, not really, I needed to put it somewhere.
Don’t go there
I talk, but you don’t listen
Not till you have made my eyes glisten
With tears yet to shed
Heart heavy as lead
But you don’t care
So don’t go there
I do things for others
For fathers and mothers
For everyone under the sun
But for me nothing gets done
But you don’t care
So don’t go there
What makes me less?
Leaves me a mess
Full of stress
Dull and lifeless
But you don’t care
So don’t go there
I am not an author or poet, never claimed to be. Probably never will be, but once in a while the voices start and I have to do something to shut them up. This is the first in a long time that they would not leave me alone.
