Spirit of Fire - 25. Epilogue

All around the world, every mortal dragon felt the tremours of rebirth.

Distant, but unmistakable.

Yet, the powers of the world knew it first.

Above Siberia's endless plains and taiga, dozens of gusting winds coalesced and slowed, pausing as the sky goddess recognised the moment.

He had returned but his arrival was just the beginning.

Upon the eastern shore of the United States, the Lady Shiba stood, the wavelets of the Atlantic washing against her ankles. It had come to pass, although not quite in the way she had been anticipating.

The eventuality had become complicated.

Lastly, far beneath the highlands of eastern Africa, within the rocky cladding of the planetary crust, the last of the four slumbered. The nova of magic burst, the structure of the fire cycle reasserting its ancient dormant authority, and the fluctuations of divine resurrection rippled through the material plane, even into the heart of the world.

Deep under the surface, hidden in the unknown depths, a sleep tens of millennia long was interrupted, an awareness provoked.

An enormous eye opened, a vast orb of glowing green, alone in the brooding dark, and awake.

His brother was alive once more.

This book is an amazing beginning to what seems to be more of an introductory book to a much deeper story; though it be every bit a book in its own right. One hell of a journey, to get to the central theme of the storyline that so strongly gaffed us from the very beginning: “My name is Torsten and right now, I am witnessing the beginning of the end of the world.”

The magic of the story for me is woven in discovery, love, mythology, theology, and politics. These fictional reflections of life as it was, is, and should be within this magical world you’ve created is so very powerful. You create such attachments to characters that it’s impossible to not be fully vested in the suspense, excitement, trills, and chills of what the story brings.

And now you know how he came to be watching 'the beginning of the end of the world'.

An entire book of 'setup' to reach that point might be considered excessive, but I tell you this: there's so much left to come, and the seeds for a great many things -- like in Aspects of Dawn -- were planted well before they will come to fruition and importance, in any conclusive future work.

I love it never said I didn't I love all ur stories read aspects of dawn twice and going to read it again it was the first story I read when I joined this platform u made me stay with ur stories so kudos to u

I've been seeing all your reactions, and I love that you enjoyed my book so much! Thank you for your kind words.

The Spirit of Water does indeed have an awful lot of explaining to do, though getting answers out of a goddess is much easier said than done.

With regard to the sequel to Spirit of Fire, if you want to know what's happening with that, then you should check this link here for further information. I asked my readers what they wanted, and this was the result. In the interim, if you enjoy science-fiction, I also have books that caters to that interest -- the Aspects of Dawn series might be worth a look. In either case, thank you for reading! :)
