TJ's Journey to Marriage - 2. Chapter 2

I woke the next morning feeling well rested and noticed J was already awake.

“Morning babe” I said

“Good morning my sweet prince, sleep well?”

“Best sleep I’ve had in a while. Any plans today?”

“Well your phone has been buzzing and Kevin wants to know if we wanted to hang out.”

“Well it’s up to you.”

“I say let’s do it, I know you love being with the kids”

“Well not as much as I love being with you.”

“Aw such a mushy lovely thing to say” he leaned in for a kiss

“No making noises brudder” Tristan said. Geez he’s not even here and a mood killer

“Something wrong?” J asked

“So, you might think I’m crazy but I can hear Tristan, Jake, Josh and my dad in my head and Tristan said no making noises” I said

“Well he can wait; we will make so much noise there will be a noise complaint.” J said and we started a super make out session. J stopped suddenly

“Something doesn’t feel right.” He said

“What do you mean?”

“I feel like we are being watched or something.” In my head I told Tristan to go away and I’d see him later.

“Any better?” I asked

“No, now I feel like someone is super angry. Let’s just get ready and call Kevin.” J said getting out of bed and heading for the shower. I will need to talk with Kevin and see if I can figure out this whole thing I have going on with Tristan. We showered and got dressed and went down to the kitchen where J made us smoothies. I called Kevin and we agreed to meet in Central Park. After we finished our smoothies I told J my plan to talk with Kevin regarding my connection with Tristan. We arrived at the park the same time as they did

“T2!!” Tristan shouted running away from Jeff

“Hey little man” I said

“Hey Tristan” J said

“Hi brudders. I told you no noises and you did it anyhow.”

“What are you talking about?” J said

“I saw you kiss T2 and you guys didn’t want to see me” he pouted

“Tristan I didn’t know.” J said

“I told T2, he no listen to me”

“Tristan, you have to understand I wanted to see you but J is my fiancé, so he’s just as important.” I said

“but I your brudder, I important too”

“Yes little man, you are very important to us.”

“Goody. You want to talk to daddy so J take me to Carousel and daddy come with J&J.”

“J&J? Since when did Jake and Josh get a nickname?” I asked

“They said wanted to be cool like J so call them J&J or J cubed.” Tristan said

“Oh I see, so when they are alone they are J squared.”

“My brudders not a square silly they babies. Come on Jwack-sin lets to play” Tristan said grabbing J’s hand. I walked with Kevin and Jeff as they pushed the stroller.

“I am having a hard time with this connection I have with Tristan, seems to come sometimes at inopportune moments.” I said making Jeff and Kevin laugh

“He seems to be very in tune with you and Jake and Josh.” Jeff said

“Honey, why don’t you go on the Carousel with JC and Tristan and I’ll take the boys and walk around with TJ” Kevin said

“Sounds like a good idea since they are asleep.” Jeff said and kissed Kevin and walked towards where the Carousel was

“So Kevin, what can you tell me about this connection I have with Tristan.” I said

“Well I can tell you that Tristan, Jacob and Joshua all came from the same egg donor and Jeff and I contributed our DNA. The only thing I can think of is maybe you guys are related somehow. The eggs were donated and we don’t know much about the mother.” Kevin said

“You wanted the boys to be genetically related I guess”

“Exactly, if you want we could do a DNA test and see if you are related somehow.” Kevin suggested

“I think that may be the only way unless Tristan knows.”

“You know he just might; let’s sit a bit” Kevin said

“I think the connection I have with him is awesome don’t get me wrong, it’s just he seems to use it more.”

“He does as he talks with the twins a lot and he’s been right about what they want so it is hard for Jeff and I not to believe him.”

“I feel like I am crazy sometimes”

“TJ, we are all crazy at some point and those who say otherwise are liars.”

“I just feel over whelmed as Tristan knows that I can talk to my dad this way too.”

“That must be hard for you and all. I really think we need to get to the bottom of this.”

“I agree but how come Beau and Grayson don’t seem to have the ability.”

“It is very strange that they don’t but don’t read too much into that or go down that rabbit hole”

“It’s hard not to” I said

“Ok, let’s talk with your mother and maybe do a DNA test on all of you.” Kevin suggested

“I guess we can talk with her, she may think I’m crazy.”

“Won’t know till we talk about it”

“Now in the words of Tristan; let’s go get our brudder.” Kevin said with a laugh. I kept thinking about it the whole time we were together at the park. When we left them I had an idea

“Hey babe, can we go see my mother?” I asked

“Sure, are you ok though? You look like you have a heavy weight on you.”

“I got this feeling and I want to talk to mom about it.” I said

“Ok, I hope your gut feeling is wrong.” He said and we went to the train station and caught the subway further north into Manhattan. We walked to Mom’s house and rang the bell

“Maybe we should have checked if she was home first.” I said

“Yeah might have been a good idea.” J replied. The door flew open and standing there was Mom and she looked disheveled.

“Um, hi Mom, hope I’m not interrupting.” I said

“No, no just running around here in the house. Come in and let’s go upstairs” Mom said loudly

“Mom you obviously have company, we’ll come back.” I said and turned around

“TJ stop, you are right. Nathan, come on out.” Mom said. A tall handsome man stepped out of the room and I he looked familiar to me.

“Do I know you?” I asked

“No you don’t. I’m Nathan Hopkins, a friend of your mothers.” He said extending a hand

“TJ Michaels, nice to meet you and this is my fiancé JC.” I said leaving off his last name on purpose. JC just nodded at him.

“So honey, do you mind if he is here?” Mom asked

“Well it’s kind of private but up to you.” I said

“Let’s all go upstairs” Mom said. Something about this guy was so familiar to me. We sat on the sofa’s in the living room and for some reason JC was so close to me he was just about in my lap.

“So Mom, I was at the park with Kevin and Jeff and talked with Kevin and I wanted to see what you had to say. I have the ability to talk with Tristan without him being nearby, kind of like telepathy but the strange thing is Beau and Grayson don’t.” I said while Mom and Nathan exchanged looks.

“Honey, what are you getting at?” Mom said

“I have this gut feeling that I am only half-brothers with them.” That’s when it hit me like a ton of bricks, Beau and Grayson resemble Nathan. Mom was starting to look uncomfortable.

“You promised no more secrets, so out with it.” I said and growled which caused JC to jump.

“Yes I did and I wanted to do this as a family but I need you to stay calm and listen to what I have to say and promise not to tell Beau or Grayson anything.” Mom said

“Well that depends on you.” I said

“Your father had a serious accident after you were born and couldn’t father anymore children. He was so devastated and wanted you to have siblings that he was willing to do anything. Nathan was a friend of ours from college and someone your father trusted and he asked Nathan to be the sperm donor Beau and Grayson. You father is listed on the birth certificates and adopted the boys right as they were born.” I sat there shocked

“So did you ever plan on telling us?” I asked

“Yes actually since I’ve been dating Nathan for a while” Mom said. I just sat there feeling betrayed and I stood up and started to walk out with JC trailing behind me.

“TJ please wait” mom said

“I can’t believe you.” I said

“Please honey, you got to believe me we did this for you, you father wanted you to have siblings.”

“You know what; I don’t even care about that right now. This is a huge secret to keep from anyone. You have until tomorrow morning to tell them or I will” I said and stormed off down the sidewalk tears starting to flow

“Babe wait up” J shouted. Apparently I was speed walking away and didn’t notice he wasn’t by my side and I stopped. He pulled me into a hug

“I can’t believe what just happened. Let me call Kevin as I am worried about you.” J said as he quickly dialed and explained to Kevin what happened. J guided my to the curb and an Uber showed up and took us to the Hilton where Kevin and Jeff were staying. We walked in and went straight to the elevator and to their room.

“Thank you for calling me JC.” Kevin said

“He’s like a zombie right now.”

“Go into the room next store and hang out with the boys and Jeff and let me talk to him” Kevin said and pointed to the adjoining room door. Once both doors closed Kevin just looked at me

“Why did you go there when I told you we should do it together? I knew something like this was possible and would shock you.” Kevin said

“What do you mean?”

“I know your mother has been dating as she had told me she was worried about how to tell you. I just didn’t know that your brothers were only half-brothers.”

“I don’t think her story is entirely true. What accident would have caused him to become sterile?”

“TJ there are many things that can cause that but if you want some kind of confirmation, we should talk to your Grandpas’” Kevin said and I whipped out my phone and dialed

“Hey TJ” Grandpa Ron said

“Hey buddy, you want to come see our new digs?” Grandpa Tony asked

“Hi grandpas’, I do but I have a serious question for you. Did dad lose the ability to have kids?” I blurted out

“Well TJ you always were a straight shooter and got right to the point.” Grandpa Tony said and I could tell their mood changed

“So that’s the story she told you.” Grandpa Ron said bitterly

“Is it not the truth?” Kevin asked

“Hi Kevin and no it’s not” Grandpa Tony said

“You see your father was in basic camp and training for a while and some way or another your mother got knocked up twice.” Grandpa Ron said

“Oh wow, so did dad know? I asked

“Oh he knew all right, he nearly divorced her and was going to take you.” Grandpa Tony said

“I am not sure what happened but they stayed together and your mother told everyone that Tristan was their father when it was obvious she was mistaken.”

“I wonder why they never told us about it”

“You see TJ, your father loved Beau and Grayson like his own and took great care of them despite it all. I don’t want you to treat them any different now that you know the truth. They are you brothers and had no say at all in what happened.” Grandpa Ron said

“Did you know she is dating Nathan again?”

“Well you know, she was dating him before too. Kat had caught them together just before you father died.” Grandpa Tony said

“You don’t think she had anything to do with Brayden killing him do you?”

“I really can’t say. I can tell you that Kat had told your father as he valued their relationship. Your mother was a bit closer to Brayden and I wouldn’t be surprised if she screwed him too” Grandpa Ron said

“Guys TJ, has had trouble dealing with the revelation about his brothers. I would like to end this conversation and talk with him some more.” Kevin said

“Absolutely and if you need anything from us TJ or Kevin, please call” and the call ended

“TJ, how do you feel?” Kevin asked

“Angry, betrayed, furious, I could go on all night. There is something I have to do.” I grabbed my phone.

“Barton, James, and Woolery, Janice speaking how may I direct your call”

“Hi Janice it’s TJ Michaels, could I speak with Jack Woolery please?”

“One moment Mr. Michaels, let me see if he is free” I sat on hold for a minute

“Mr. Michaels, I am putting you through now.” Janice said

“Hey TJ, what can I do for you?” Jack said

“Have you made any changes to the BHO ownership yet?”

“The papers have been drafted and I was going to set-up an appointment to go over them with you.”

“I need a change made. I want keep 75% ownership until I settle a few things.”

“That is no problem at all. Can I ask why you changed your mind?”

“I just found out my mother is a lying two timing whore! I shouted”

“Wow TJ, I am a bit surprised she told you.”

“Oh she didn’t tell me, she lied to me. I found out from someone else.”

“TJ, don’t do anything rash” Jack said and Kevin nodded in agreement

“Rash? You know me a bit too well. I want a full background investigation into my mother ordered through BHO.”

“TJ, you can’t ask me to do that.”

“Are you not the lawyer for BHO?”

“Yes, I am but I am saying you can’t do that”

“Oh so BHO can be shady when others want it to be but when I need something, oh sorry TJ you can’t do that.”

“TJ, just let me talk to her.”

“You know what, Jack you and your firm are fired” I shouted and hung up
