Light & Dragonflies: Nature Poems/Love Poems - 3. Hands like tired butterflies

.

Traurig welkt der Sommer deiner Augen

und es suchen deine Sinne

irre Bienen nach dem Honig ihrer Lust

ins Geplänkel deiner Lippen mit den Worten

Streckt sich Schlaf

und der Hände müde Falter

senken der Gebärden Flügel

in den Abend deines Bluts

Bis die Ebbe deines Auges

wieder Flut wird

und von weißen Tempelstufen deines Mundes

Worte stürzen

laute Kinderschar

treppauf

treppab

  ---------------------------------

The summer of your eyes sadly wilts now

and your senses are like mad bees

searching out the sweet honey of their passions

through the banter of your lips with their sweet’ning words

But stretching sleep

with hands like tired butterflies

begins to fold gesturing wings

in the evening of your force

until the ebb-flow of your eyes

becomes high tide

until the white steps of your temple-mouth can crowd

with children once more

who run in laughing play

to you

from you
