Light & Dragonflies: Nature Poems/Love Poems - 13. Where bees wade

.

Duften steht mit ausgebreiten Händen

kraus springt Sonne über keck Gesträuch

leise weiden grille Wolken Träume

blauer Himmel streichelt koses Gras

Sonne wiegt im Moos die tanzen Sterne

und die Wälder schweben drüberher

Rosen kosen die verschämten Wiesen

schüchtern faltet Blut die trillre Hand

Bäume hetzen ihre grünen Segel

Winde liegen flüsternd ohrinohr

Summen hascht die flatterhaften Blumen

Bienen tropfen

Steine atmen schwer

  ---------------------------------

Scent waits and stands with its outstretching hands

as sun boldly plays leapfrog with shrubs

clouding dreams of softly grazing crickets

to fondle the lush grass in sky blues

as light cradles dancing stars through the moss

and sky-castle woods float overhead

Roses caress the demure meadowlands

which shyly grasp life with shaking palm

as trees hoist sail to the whispering winds

lying recumbent from ear to ear

to capture the flighty hum of flowers

where bees wade

and where stones exhale

Each and every line is beautiful in this poem. I am taking two days back in my childhood, when I could spend endless hours beneath sun and sky and woods and fields just as is described here. It’s beautiful.

Wonderful.  I agree with @Parker Owens -- this brings back childhood memories.  It flow well, reads well, worded well.  Very well done.

Thank you, ReaderPaul. A poem like this releases a flood of images and memories. I feel lucky to have encountered Runge's remarkable poetry in the first place. He needs better exposure, for his work is timeless
