A Man in a Room, and other poems - 24. The Belle Torment
.
Poem No. 65
The Belle Torment
Sweet surrender of a gentle dream
calmly feigning itself supreme
as the day easily ends
Poem No. 66
No one knows what man will be,
and the past only tells the mistakes we'll make.
Poem No. 67
Through gates of two
we all must go
one when we're new
the other when we're through.
How can it be as simple as this
no chance to dream or make a wish
no one to greet hello or goodbye
through and through, just pulsing sighs.
Common factors are hard to find
questions about questions stay undefined
the rhythm remains in stunning truth
through gates of two we must go.
Poem No. 68
In God we trust
but it's money we lust.
