What kind of wolf am I? - 3. Chapter 3
Sasha
Stella had totally abandoned me. I had spent half an hour prior, searching for her without luck. I had even tried to sniff her out, but that hadn’t gone so well either. Sniffing out someone with so many wolfs in the same place wasn’t easy, especially if she did not want to be found. I hoped that meant she had found what she’d come looking for.
Once I had given up, leaving Stella to her schemes, I soon found myself in the middle of a conversation with a bunch of semi-friends from school. I had classes with a few of them, but the rest of the group were new encounters. The tall blond across from me especially caught my attention – he was definitely sending me looks. He wasn’t too bad looking. Even though my body was definitely interested, I knew where it would lead, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go there tonight. I knew what I wanted, who I wanted, and the realization that I couldn’t have him bummed me beyond the damage, which all of my other rejections in life had caused me. During the next half hour, I downed my third beer of the night and the blond guy across from me took that as his moment to move. He slid into the tight spot between me and my classmate Connor, putting his mouth close to my ear.
“Can I get you another one, gorgeous?” All doubts about him having eyed me lost. To hell with it all, since my life sucked anyway, I might as well try and have a moment of fun.
“Sure, I’d like that.” I said, very well knowing it was code for: ‘Fine I’ll be yours, for tonight.’ Just as the guy came back and handed me my beer, I felt a prickle at the back of my neck, the kind you get when you feel someone staring at you. I looked around, searching for what had caused my discomfort. There, at the other end of the room, I found none other than the alpha himself, leaning against the far wall, staring – at me. Even when our eyes met, he just kept staring, it was kind of unsettling since I was unable to read his gaze. I felt a pull in his direction and decided to go see if he had something to say.
“Will you excuse me for a moment,” I said to the guy and got up. I was a little unsteady on my feet. Just as I looked up, the beta approached the alpha and said something to him. Even though I couldn’t hear anything from this far away, I could clearly see the alpha wasn’t happy, if the sneer on his face was anything to go by. Maybe he didn’t want to talk to me after all. He turned back to face my direction and probably sensed my hesitation cause he tilted his head in a gesture that told me ‘yes, get over here’, and I moved my feet.
Once I was standing in front of him, I expected him to say something, after all, he was the one who had called me over here. But he just kept looking at me, or was he glaring at me? It was hard to tell. I started fidgeting uncomfortably.
“Uhm…” I didn’t even know what to say. One part of my brain was trying to analyze the situation and figure out what he could possibly want from me. The other half tried coaxing the other half into letting it go and get me to throw myself at the man in front of me. He looked so casual, leaned against the wall, his ankles crossed in front of him and his arms crossed over his broad chest. Dear God, help me! I wanted him. Wanted to be embraced by those arms, wanted to be stared at with lust as he fucked me, hard. DO NOT go there I screamed at my brain, mentally slapping myself, but it was already too late. My alphas nostrils flared, and then he leaned forward, putting his mouth just beside my ear. I almost moaned at having him this close, his scent filling my nose. A stuttering breath was all that left my mouth.
“No more drinking for you,” He rumbled, his voice a warning growl in my ear. And then he grabbed the beer out of my hand and leaned back.
It took me a moment to grasp what had just happened. Was he… Was he fucking lecturing me? I just stared at him in shock. Something inside me snapped. Who the hell did he think he was. Who was he to tell me what I could and could not do, sure he was alpha, but I was a grown-up! But maybe he was right… I definitely should stop drinking, I had to be wasted cause I bared my teeth at him and growled… I fucking GROWLED. At. My. Alpha!!!!!!!!!! And then I just turned and walked away. Shit, I was so screwed.
