Inspired by - 10. Prompt 20 - Finding the Class Pet

The prompt asked you to write a drabble. A drabble is a short piece of writing exactly one hundred words. So you have very little time to develop a story. Here is hoping it makes sense to you as a reader.

“Where did the little beast go?”

Dan crawled on the floor looking under the furniture.

“I don’t know, Daddy?”

“Billy, did you have to let him out of his cage right before we had to take him back to school?”

“But he wanted to play, Daddy!”

“Hurry up and get dressed, Billy” called Sarah.

Billy ran to his room.

“Did you find the thing?”

“No!”

“Great. I’ll be looking for a hamster all day, Alex.”

Billy came running back into the room carrying an empty cage but he was dressed.

Alex went to put on his shoes.

“Oh, found it.”

So what did you think? Was it a good use of 100 words? Comments are great and if you liked it add that happy point for me.

It's absolutely delightful. I'm glad he found the hamster BEFORE he put his shoes on
Yup and all in a hundred words. I didn't have to far to write this. It is based off my brother as a child losing his hamster in the house.

I don't know what you meant by 'good' use, but I totally understood and enjoyed the story.

But I have a lil request. Can you write something with a gay family in it next time?:)

Michael have you read Accident's Happen or most of my other work. Trust me do a lot of gay families, people coming to understand themselves, and all of the pain, joy, and life that brings.
