Blood of the Neko 2. Tears of the Neko

   (2 reviews)

In the sequel to Tears of the Neko, Damien, the duke of Marsten must journey to the mines to deal with a problematic overseer. When his feline lover, Kayden, comes face to face with nightmares from his past, will he be strong enough to survive them, or will he fall prey to his fears and their resolve to draw the Blood of the Neko?

This is the sequel to Tears of the Neko.  It is best to have read the first story before reading this one.  There is also a set of short stories called Neko Shorts that precede this story as well (they happen in between the two stories).  The Neko shorts are light-hearted vignettes into Kayden and Damien's lives, some of which are hinted at in the sequel.  It is not necessary to have read them to enjoy The Blood of the Neko, however.
Warnings:  language and a bit of violence, minor character deaths.

This is my favorite of the two Neko stories. I like this one because Kayden’s confidence has really risen, and he stands up Damien when he is accused of something he didn’t do.

Although, storming off does backfire in some ways, in others it is the right thing to do. I wanted to punch Damien, even though he had his reasons for thinking as he did, the way he went about dealing with it was wrong and hurtful. When Kayden storms off and his friends tell him off it makes Damien realize he has a lot of groveling to do.

Of course, other things intervene and the groveling has to wait a while. But, the things that happen give Kayden a chance to show how much he has grown.

A wonderful read
