A poem in memory of a dear friend.

Carlos could always appreciate poetry, even as his relationship with it remained ambivalent. Of course, I could see no other way to honor him, but to dedicate a poem in his memory. I can imagine what he'd say, but I know he would be smiling. I hope you who read it, do so too.
