Musings of a Wordsmith - 5. All of a Sudden, Rain

I wrote this poem a couple of years ago as I started getting out of an intensely dark period in my life. I see it as the start of a U-turn, as a realization that there is always hope.
I hope my feelings that changes are good and they DO happen come across!

Fresh scent after the rain,
wet soil, dreamy
recalling happy memories.

Fresh air after the rain,
intense fragrance, intoxicating
every sense is awake.

Resounding echoes after the rain,
fruitful smell of captivating life,
of a new-born spring.

Early after the rain,
eager to blossom and laugh,
to be again just a kid playing
with fresh water on the ground.

The feeling of the poem that comes through for me is one of renewal. The letting of gravity take the reader down to the collected rainwater at the end is well done. It becomes liberating

Thank you, AC. The idea of water as a source for renewal and renewal being what was needed at the time I wrote the poem was paramount.
