Musings of a Wordsmith - 18. A Step Beyond

Another installment of "poetherapy", my way of working out intense times of my life.

Like a light
once so bright,
I will vanish
in a memory
without anger
nor regret,
without missing
nor being missed.

From afar,
my new home,
I will enjoy
the happiness
once shared
and find my way
through the turmoil
of life in solitude.

To me this poem has the quality of sunlight forcing its way through shuttered blinds. There's a play of faint air currents, light and little motes of optimism rising and falling

Thank you, @AC Benus, I’m humbled by the sensations my writing is able to raise… I love the image you describe, maybe I’ll “recycle” it into a poem…
