Pieces and Fragments - 5. when we danced

Mitchel and I loved to go dancing. Haven't known anyone like him in that regard.

shadows coalesce
into the form of you
and we dance in the darkness
never quite touching
for how does one caress the wind

in my mind you are there
as real
as the first time we touched
setting my skin ablaze
with the flame
of your passion

i see your smile
and hear your laugh
you say my name
and love erupts from deep within
bathing my soul in willing abandon

when music dissipates
when melody and rhythm
blend into silence
our hearts set the tempo
of our passion

and whether the burst of spring
or the quiet of winter
explosion of color
or layers of white
nothing
in all of eternity
can come close to the magic
of when we danced
