I agree When My little sisters hide boyfriends from me I dont like the boyfriend because like you said there must be something wrong for her to hide it. And so far they have all been jerks. Her current boyfriend though she introdused right away and I thing he is a pretty good guy and they have been together for 2 years. So I say in my fathers words twords me when I was younger and dating, the guy is guilty untill proven innosent.

See now I have a different problem, I was the last to know that my sister had broken up with her most recent boyfriend, and is now already seeing someone else, someone I've yet to meet. Except, I'm not allowed to get my knickers knackered over it since she is four years older than me .

 

My advice, don't get all pissy over it with her right away, cause she will DEFINATELY date him just to get you all wet. It's what siblings do best, especially the younger ones as I am told (wouldn't know, since I'm the youngest )

I can see why you'd be offended. I don't have any siblings, but me and my cousins are really close, and one of my cousins didn't tell me when she got engaged, and that was really annoying...I don't have any suggestions about what to say to her either...family are annoying sometimes, but that's their job

My logic: Any guy who wants to ask my sister out, automatically want to get in her pants. Therefore, any guy who wants to ask my sister out is automatically guilty, guilty, guilty!

Dom, I am the youngest and I have 3 older Italian sisters.....trust me, its no picnic being the youngest (even at my age) When I was a small boy, I would threaten them and tell them I was trading all of them in for one brother!!! (I have 2 older stepsisters, whom I do not speak too..trust me Italian drama too long even for me to write)

 

So, I suffered as you did...and heaven forbid I spoke the truth about their boyfriends and/or husbands....hell has no fury like an Italian sister!! especially one who hears what they want to hear! (it is the do as I tell you and that's that rule)

 

I know your sister knows she is dating a bleepity bleep or else you would have been introduced ages ago....and don't tell her I said that..I don't need another Italian sister putting a hex on me....and the evil eye!

 

Just step back and the current dude will self destruct....right before your eyes (and make sure you only smile when she isn't around and don't tell anyone...you know Italian families..word spreads quicker then the speed of light!!)

 

And as a second thought....delete all emails after reading them on this topic....am I paranoid..nope..just Italian and used to the family of Italian women who are confounded that I tell them nothing....one wonders why?

this is actually exactly what I was thinking. No offense but if you usually take exception to the guys she dates (even if it is warrented), perhaps she just doesn't feel comfortable introducing them to you. But of course I don't have any siblings, and my cousin doesn't date (that I know of), so I have nothing to compare this to except female friends, which I guess is a little different. Dom, lighten up. One: your sister is undoubtedly worthy of being your sister, so that means she has some sense and ability to take care of herself, right? Two, she's entitled to make her own mistakes. Three, so what if the boys she's seeing are interested in having sex with her? Maybe she's interested in having sex with him . . . don't be shocked! These are her decisions to make.

 

Now, if you want to be your little sister's confidante, you'd better be a trustworthy one -- that means not freaking out when you hear about things. If you're judgmental and excitable, she's not going to tell you things.

i was the same way with my little sis. until she met..we'll call him J..this guy DESERVED to be hated, he treated her bad, i didnt like him, but she was tired of hearing it. she wound up MARRYING him. he still treats her bad, or not as well as i KNOW she deserves to be treated. she wont even let me alone with him for a minute cause she knows im gonna jump his shit and/or kill him. but she LOVES him.
