The Annoying Muse

Me: *In a public bathroom.*

Muse: "Pssst. I've got a story idea for you that I know that you will just love!"

Me: *Finally drifting off to sleep at 3 a.m....*

Muse: "Psst you sleeping? Didn't think so! Get up 'cause I am not visiting you in the morning."

Me: *Sitting down to get some homework done...*

Muse: "Hey buddy, you look like you're working hard. Not anymore!"

Me: *Finally sitting down to do some creative writing...*

YouTube: "HOLLA BROTHA."

Tumblr: "WASSUP HOMIE."

Facebook: "LONG TIME NO SEE BITCH."

The last bit... story of my life.

I spent five hours (from 1 am till 6 am) on Youtube waiting Britain Got Talent. I was supposed to finish my projects.

I hate myself. :(

I have a strategy for that... I carry a notebook with me even to the showers. Always write down these ideas and little snippets of writing.

And then I hit the library (when I have time), make sure I'm not hungry or horny, and give myself a nice view outside, and force myself to write from 10 am - 3 pm, having no communication with anyone whatsoever.

If well, it truly hurts to stay away from Youtube and Facebook etc... as they say, no pain no gain :)

LOLLL I usually don't let it go 'cause I always have different ideas. Probably bad coz my sleeping schedule is so fucked up

My muse loves to visit me at work.  Especially during treatments.  When I am massaging and my patient is either asleep or too relaxed to want to talk, it allows me to think and figure out plot problems.  Then a brilliant idea flies out of nowhere and hits me in the middle of my eyes.  And what can I do?  Absolutely nothing!!  I have a patient on the table and my hands are covered with massage gel.  If I am lucky, I can remember it after I am done with the treatment and might be able to scribble it down on a scrap of paper.  While I'm driving to/from work is another fun time as well.  I actually wrote down an idea I came up with on a piece of paper while driving…once.  When I got home, I couldn't read one word of it.  :(

OMG LOL Cassie I will pull you over and charge you for writing while driving hehe. And that sounds like it sucks! I think it's pretty normal for our muses to visit us during quiet daily activities, for me it's mainly showers and my commutes to and from work/school
