I think I will stick with the ' Myr ' quote to be on the safe side. Quote The Netherlands are famous for the dikes they use to control the flooding of their land. Much of the Netherlands Is Below Sea Level Today, around 27% of the Netherlands is actually below sea level. This area is home to over 60% of the country's population of approximately 17 million people. The Netherlands, which is roughly the size of the U.S. states Connecticut and Massachusetts combined, has an average elevation of 36 feet (11 meters). A huge part of the Netherlands is highly susceptible to flooding. Time will tell if the North Sea Protection Works are strong enough to protect it. Bill W 45,808 Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) With global climate change, I think we'll need a lot more dikes around the world, like encircling many islands. Otherwise, they may go the route of Atlantis as well. Listen up Manhattan, Long Island, and Staten Island, as well as the state of Hawaii and the other major islands around the world. Coastlines and major river banks will be susceptible as well, so there's a lot of work to be done. There will be a lot more jobs created, if you know how to build dikes. They are a bit oversized for my taste. 3
