Unfortunately, the nation, if not the entire world, is becoming callous to the sadists in our society.  The sadist, and some of the general population, not only lack empathy and sympathy for the victims the individual is targeting, but some of these individuals are also attempting to find ways to justify the sadist's actions.  I hope this trend ends soon and never returns.
