First thing first, I really need anyone who is thinking to enter our yearly Anthology, please see Val's Thursday blog and if you fingers haven't started typing, get them going!

As you read this, I am indisposed. Read into that what you want :P. But I'm up by a lake in the mountains looking at the colours change for fall. 

So next week in the northern hemisphere, we flip into fall, autumn, whatever you like to call it. Down under the equator, they are about to hit spring :yes: 

What is your favourite season? My favourite is winter. I like a nice cold, crisp day with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. That is me though. What I do not care for is the cold, and wind combined. Give me -40 C/F and no wind and no bother at all. If is -1C or 30F, and wind blowing, no thank you :no:.

So, what is your favourite season? Not only that, but more importantly, why is it your favourite? I'm curious if it is summer and you want to wear just your bikini or speedo, or is it fall to watch summer evolve to winter. Will it be spring to see the new growth, or just the warming of the weather. I'm sure we will have a diverse response to this question. So let us know what your season is. Curious if we have anyone that lives near the equator that really don't have seasons I think :unsure: If so, what season do you think you would like to have?

Fall is my favorite time of year because the foliage in the northeast is just stunning.  I also like the cooler temps, although this year we've remained in the mid-80s for most of September.  Thankfully, it's supposed to be more seasonal starting on Monday.  I don't do well in the heat, so summer is actually my least favorite season.  I also love the flavors of fall - give me all the pumpkin spice things!  Plus fall food like butternut squash and apples and cider.  It's a cozy time of year.  And I love Halloween.  Lots of fun things happen in the fall too, like my brother and one of my nieces or my nephew come for their annual visit, and I usually take a trip to visit friends.

I've always loved the fall.  The changing of the leave from green to an array of yellow, orange, and red, accompanied by cider hitting the shelves of the grocery stores, farmers' markets, and apple orchards was an indication that the holidays were fast approaching.   When I was a kid, I knew it meant that Halloween was just around the corner, and I loved trick-or-treating, but I also knew it wouldn't be long before the family would be gathering to celebrate the holidays together.  First at Thanksgiving, and then at Christmas, we'd be joined by those we hadn't  seen in a while.  There would be lots of tales about what the others had been up to since we'd last been together, plus there would be plenty of turkey, along with dishes each cook was most famous for, as well as enough pumpkin pie to go around, sometimes more than once.   

Unfortunately, a great many of those people are no longer around, but I still have the memories of those wonderful times, along with the opportunity to make some new memories with the younger family members and those of my generation that are still around.

I too was a little busy this week running down to see a family friend for lunch recovering from a broken leg. Such fun at 87 years of age. Took the long way home on my three-hour drive to turn it into a 4-hour drive to see the other side of the mountains. You know the old saying, the colors are always brighter on the other side of the mountain. And it was beautiful, if ahead of schedule this year. Colors aren't as vibrant this year, but still nice to look at. Farmers markets galore amongst the lakeside resort towns. They too had a good year and early harvest for the apple orchards.

The best part of the trip was meeting one of the locals on the road. One of which I haven't seen in almost forty years. No. Not the humankind either. One of our regional bear cubs (About 15 lbs, the size of a large house cat) decided to cross the road in front of me. Too fast for me to grab the camera, but slow enough for me to get a good look before I vacated the area as I am sure momma bear was around someplace. Luckily for the cub traffic wasn't very heavy on that stretch. Only saw one other car after fifteen minutes of driving. In summer you might see two cars. In winter, 20 - 30 snowmobiles. *Shrugs* I don't miss bumper to bumper traffic and prefer the local wildlife over the local idiots driving around. 

The worst part of the trip is stopping into the market stands and buying all the things my doctor says I shouldn't eat... But. I am going too anyway. So, if you don't tell her, she'll never know! have a good weekend everyone!

I love Autumn, it gives us a break from the really hot Summer Months. But is warm enough to enjoy walks in the local park and enjoy the falling of leaves, the last of the warm weather. Before we reach the miserable Summer Months.

Hubby has 2 sisters and a brother that live in Australia, so they are entering there Summer Months.

I like the Spring when nature awakens from winter sleep but, summer holiday somewhere at Mediterenian is healing for us living in a landlock country!

I love the spring. This year I was very lucky because first I was in Berlin in April and welcomed the spring. Then went home and spring sprung again in my country. Saw the chestnut trees blossom twice. :wub:

I really like the autumn too when the trees change colour and the crisp air 🍁🍂🍁
