Back for one week

So, I've now been back in the States for a week. It's been quite an eye-opening experience in some ways, very boring and frustrating in others. Not much has been going on the past few days, although I went and bought a suit today ... Calvin Klein, dark gray, much more conservative than I'd like. I was thinking more along the lines of a flashy Versace suit, maybe like a fireman's red vinyl suit ... but it was explained to me that that wouldn't go over so well in a job interview ... :(

The plan for tomorrow is to drive into the city to buy a new black belt (my old one doesn't fit anymore ... *cries*), and a few more traditional Okinawan weapons. Then I can start training and getting into shape again. I worked out with my swords last night in the backyard and broke an exercise-induced sweat for the first time in a long time, which was nice. Might have scared the neighbors, though ... hehe

Writing has been slow, too ... I just haven't been very inspired. Chapter 23 should be coming out shortly, though, as well as the Summer Anthology. So, there will still be stuff to read coming out soon, and I'm making progress on Chapter 24. If anyone wants to get me a job and a cute guy, though, I could be persuaded to increase my output ... :P Well, actually, one certain little Italian cupcake would be plenty, but he's a feisty one ... 0:)

Oooh ... and I've managed to lose 5 lbs. over the past week! Woo-hoo!

I hate to be so rude about it, but I am Ben and Ben only's Cupcake.

Also, stop hitting on me.

Jerk.

Fine, I'll just have to come up with a better nickname for you ... but since you're forcing me to, it'll be much, much more embarrassing than being called "cupcake" ... 0:)

And if you can convince both Benny and Kitty to tell me to stop hitting on you, then I will ... but until then, I'll show you how relentless Buddhas can be ... 0:)

No culture-shock problems? If so, great!

Yes, even with my abysmal fashion sense, I can see how a red vynal suite might not go over so well at a job intervieiw! :lmao:

I can sympathize though.. I have an utter hatred for ties. I refuse to wear them EVER. I'm fortunate that I'm from Arizona, where the official state neckwear is a string (bolo) tie. I've got a nice one with a silver and turquoise hasp that I got on the Navajo reservation. That one really raises some eyebrows in Europe! However, my favorite, which is reserved only for very formal (and stuffy) occasions, such as formal nights on cruise ships, is a rhinestone cow skull. :D

BTW, congrats on the weight loss!

Inspired means you need inspiration. What could we all do to help?

Hmmm. If you don't want the red suit you could always try wearing a cape. Very formal, and it gets you noticed. ;)

*grins* Hey, you have my permission to flirt away, Cupcake said he's not a horse in my stable any more so I'm not getting involved :P;) So I'd take a lot of convincing to tell you that :D

Also, good choice on the suit grey's a good colour, oh and well done on the 5lbs! :2thumbs:

I have a young lady who works for me who is from Laos. She has been educating me about the region. Well since getting to know you and reading your blogs, I thought it would be nice to know more about what you have been through and experiencing. She has only been in the states about 10 years, but goes back frequently.

Anyway, she was telling me that in Thailand there are a lot more openly gay males than here in the states. She said the culture is different and seems more accepting. So, I guessing that you are having an even harder time trying to meet someone here in the states. Companionship is such a needed thing, even for a Buddah!!!

By the way, that guy that is telling you to stop hitting on him, he is either a real jerk, or he really likes you and is hiding it!!! You know the more they try to push away, the more they are asking to be pulled in close!! I'd keep it up, if not for just the fun of it. I am sure Kitty would agree. She can be quite the jesture when given the chance!!!

Good choice on suites, I am with CJ though, I hate ties. Have you seen the weather reports for Dallas lately! 100- 102 every day and the humidity is horrible.

Oh, by the way, why didn't you have your suite made for you before you came back to the states, according to my friend, you would have saved lot's of money and maybe even got a better fitting suite. She has all her clothes made there and sent back. She was telling me she can have her clothes hand made for about 1/3rd the cost of shopping here? Just curious.

Could be. Definitely could be.

If anyone wants to get me a job and a cute guy, though [...]
Anyone know of any of those in Portland? ... jobs and guys, that is ... he'd have to be str8, of course, and unattached at present ;) . Anybody have a big brother or maybe a dad in northwest Oregon or southwest Washington State?
