And while we're talking about blogs....

I'm really enjoying reading these blogs. I like the fact that bloggers can pretty much express their thoughts regardless of topic, and that gives us a chance to get to know them a little better. It seems to me that these have become more active than the forum. I'm wondering why that is? I've thought about it and I came up with a couple of possible reasons. One possibility is that they're new....at least for the general membership. The latest fad, the trendy option, everyone focused on the new and different, like a bunch of, well, sheep. :sheep: Another potential reason is that those of us who have blogs focus on them because we're egotists. The center of attention, the ability to attract a "following"....an imperial, Snow Dog kind of thing. :king: Or perhaps it's because there are fewer apparent rules and restrictions. It seems unlikely that moderation would be needed since bloggers can delete or edit their blogs. Call this the civil libertarian approach....the "no censorship say what you want approach." :graduated: There's no real evidence to support any of these possibilities....other than our own opinions. Got one?

I think it's a combination of new and ego.

Fortunately the new will wear off in a little while, unfortunately the ego won't.

Do you think my bad mood is noticable?????

Sharp sticks? I thought I was being inquisitive, not an inquisitor.

I've decided I like writing in my blog because it's a good place to get my feelings out, like a journal or something, only I've never been able to keep one of those. I figure that no one who doesn't want to read it has to, and it's a good way to keep from telling the people who do care the same story over and over. And yeah, somehow it does feel like I'm freer to say what I'm thinking.

I could have worded that better. I was feeling out of sorts last night. I'll try and clarify.

The comment wasn't necessarily based on just this topic. Usually your posts have a nice edge to them that I find enjoyable. Lately that edge seems razor sharp. Hence, poking with a sharp stick for what appears to be no other reason than to poke with a sharp stick. Just my opinion, but you did indicate that there is more freedom in blog posts.

And as I'm sure the 'courtesy police' is paying no attention to any exchange between the two of us (more likely doing the happy dance), I'll even go so far as to say 'sorry' if this seems rude. That is not my intent.

I think that Mark has reached his crescendo, and is now on the backside of the piece.

By the way Mark, what is it that you soak those sharp sticks in anyway? I have this wound that just won't seem to heal. :lmao:

If I didn't know better I would thing you were making a derrogatory remark directed at me. It is not my fault if my shy, reserved, and unassuming style tends to attract people like [insert appropriate similie here].

Whereas the forums topics are usually related to stories or the authors, I think the blogs are popular because blog owner can talk about anything they want to. From nonsense to bitching, the blog owner is free to decide.
