Well I'm only going to comment on the last paragraph.

Some stories that I liked from elsewhere, first a short but unusual storyline.

Spider Bait - it's at forbiddenfruitzine.com - The author is female, but she certainly gets inside the body of a man.

The second and third are by an author called Kit - a few years old now, they lurk on Nifty somewhere and CRVboy

Tapping, and Not Always Easy.

And the last one is recent on Nifty in the Bi section, again slightly unusual storyline, nothing extra special until chapter4 in my opinion; Masquerade.

well, my friend Josh and Dabeagle wrote a story called "Breaking Masks" which is really lighthearted and fun. here's a description:

"When Jake Sheridan decided to move far away for college, he was trying to put his past behind him and get a fresh start. He didn't know what he was getting himself into. Now he's feeling far away from everything and everyone he knows...and feeling quite lonely. Then he meets the adorably awkward kid at the coffee shop...

Kody Kingsley let his dad talk him into attending his alma mater and now he's have trouble adjusting to his new setting as well. Things are only further complicated when he finds himself attracted to the hot guy he seems to be running into everywhere he goes. If he only knew the attraction was mutual...

Bad-timing and unexpected obstacles seem to be conspiring to keep them apart. Can love win out in the end?"

Anything of Dio's is good, I think he could write about almost anything and make it interesting...

On another note, how can anyone live somewhere that gets below 10 degrees Celsius/50 Fahrenheit? I wouldn't want to go out...though I've gotta say the 40/104 degree plus summer days are a killer here.

Enjoy the holidays as much as you can Dom, which means lots of alcohol to deal with some family...

If you want something a little different, fresh and definitely original I'd try Graeme's Heart of the Tree over at AwesomeDude. Although the story is not complete as it has only reached the end of the second of three parts, it's at a point where you'd be completely satisfied if you never read another word.

Abandoned Boy by Thomas Gaige is one of my favorites...of course, he's my favorite author behind the guy that wrote The Log Way, Dessert Dropping, The Ordinary Us and TOSOM :)

Then you should really not come to Sweden in the middle of the winter. A couple of years ago we had -45C for about a week. This winter has been -2C at worst though, thankfully.

Dom, I'd suggest reading Someday Out of the Blue by LittleBuddhaTW.

A long epilogue is great, since that means more reading for us! :worship:

And about the phonecall; Whatever you would've done would be awkward. So it's like having to choose between several bad choices. The situation would've turned out awkward either way. Sorry you had to go through that though!

I wish you(and everyone else here) a Merry Christmas!

Here is a list of stories I have read over the past years that I have really enjoyed.

Try:

Stormfront - www.stormnation.com

Journey of Love - www.crvboy.com (under the author Journeyman)

For the love of Pete - www.Deweywriter.com

Anything from Comicality

The Magic In Your Touch and The Way You Say My Name - www.crvboy.com (under Sara Bell)

These are some of the best stories I've read until I stumbled upon your work. There are more but can't remember them.

I'm thinking Dom will readily agree that both The Magic in Your Touch and The Way You Say My Name are both excellent and worth the read. But then I'll add my voice as a third to that conclusion as well :P

I've gotten myself hooked on Christopher P. Lydon's Falcon Banner series. I am up to chapter 6 right now, having only just started the whole thing tonight. It's sci-fi, which I always find enjoyable to break away from the day to day norms that make me sick these days, lol.

Twist my arm, Dom. I've got this entire story, fifteen chapters long that has been edited already, totally complete, and will be posted for public consumption early in the year...

Well, Dom, 'tis the season. Let me wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New year. I love this time of year, because it causes me to slow down and take stock of my life and where I've traveled this past year and to see things once again through the eyes of a child. Ah!

It is also a time to wish each other well, and I share with you good thoughts and wishes for love and peace in your life.

Now - on to authors: As already suggested by others, I too am fascinated by KIT (CRVBOY, I think) and his Tappings story is exquisite. I highly recommend him. He's good.

May your next year be filled with good things and experiences and lots of love.

First time commenting, but I've been lurking for awhile now. I know I would stay on the line too...And for the same reason as yourself, but no one has to know. :funny:

As for story suggestions, I've been keeping to shorter works, like the "You meet your soulmate in the strangest places" by The Zot and you've probably read Jayne's short stories (I found some of the original heterosexual versions kicking around on some sites, which were amusingly profound with the interchangeability). Also you should check out Stefan Schmidt's stuff (especially The Lizard), Michael Gouda's site the WWGSS and the Yahoo group message archive has a large number excellent of shorts like "Death and the Veteran" and others that don't come to mind at the moment.

Chris Lydon's Falcon Banner [and series] is quite good, as well as his Carter series which is still on-going, but the completed seven novels in it are well-written and can be found at crvboy. Andr0gene's Colorado Game was completed this year and The House Always Wins awhile ago. The mystery-serial Two distinct, divisions none hasn't been updated in some time, but worth a read. The old-but-good The Taking of Jacob is still milling about on Nifty in "beginnings" if you haven't read it.

I can't promise they're all happy or to your liking, but a good mix is healthy.

Here's to a happy [or happier] holiday!

Dom, I too wish you good luck with all the family issues, and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I have to second Kurt's recommendation of Vance's work. He is my next favorite hosted author, second only to your work. Graeme's work is also quite entertaining. I just finished reading his story "New Brother" and loved it. Little Buddha's story "One Day out of the Blue" is a masterpiece and well worth the read. Of course if you're really bored and desparate, you can click on my link below.

hugs,
