JamesSavik 24,804 Posted November 11, 2005 Dude- I've read your work. You are one of the last of the great Romantics. I know because it takes one to know one. It is easy to get jaded by all the wacked s*** that we see but if we didn't believe, at least a little bit, that love can happen, we would go stark, raving nuts. Don't give up. Cupid will catch you when you least expect it. -JS
AFriendlyFace 191 Posted November 11, 2005 LOL Dom! Well if we're allowed to vote, my vote is for Friday :-P. I agree with the general idea that your stories do seem really romantic (which is one of the main reasons I love them so much!). Maybe you do write them that way to get a different perspective or something. I say I'm going to be a writer eventually (I've got a million ideas but I'm too scattered and unfocused to actually sit down and write them out), and I find myself often running through plot lines that involve something dreadful happening in someone's relationship, something they've either got to overcome, or that proves it's just so horrible it can't be overcome.......But I'm about the MOST romantic person I know, as well as generally optomistic about life.....Perhaps it's just fun to do something DIFFERENT. That said though, don't give up on the fairy tale lol! Anyway have a great weekend and I can't wait to read the next installment of DD!
NaperVic 161 Posted November 11, 2005 Ummm, I don't think I've ever raised my voice at you, so.... YOU'RE TWENTY-FRICKING-TWO!!!!! You're not supposed to be thinking about settling down, committing to one person, and being in a stale monogamous relationship. Enjoy your whore phase years while you can. You probably have at least 8 more years of it and maybe more depending on your waist and hair lines. Now, a lot of your fans are in relationships or are relationship minded, and your stories attract our type. We certainly aren

Lucy Kemnitzer 0 Posted November 11, 2005 New relationships are romantic. Old relationships are more like friendships or family relationships.I met the nice fellow I married in 1970. I moved in with him in 1971. I married him in 1975. Things are not perfect. But I like him a lot, and I wouldn't trade 35 years of that for 35 years of new relationship spark.I always kind of hated new relationship spark, actually. It made me nervous and sick to my stomach. I was always sure I wasn't really good enough for anybody and I know I'd revert to that if I had to be beginning again. A new lover isn't like a new dog. A new dog, you know they're going to love you: a new lover, you don't know that, all you know is that you're going to have to expose yourself all over again. But, you know, there's more than one way to live a life. You have time to work out how it's going to be.
NaperVic 161 Posted November 11, 2005 Sooo Ummm Vic is 24 a better age then? Hey, nothing wrong with being in a relationship Dave. But my point was that there was nothing wrong with Dom 'whoring' around a bit either. I just don't think that at age 22, he should be worried about trying to get into a relationship...yet. If he falls into one, great! But he shouldn't be trying to find one just cause all the other kids are doing it, nor should he feel bad for being single Vic P.S. - And what happens if Dom finds a BF who wants more of his time? "Dom sweety, stop writing and come spend more time with me! Do these jeans make me look fat? Let's go to Home Depot and look at those floor tiles. There's a sale at Macy's on pillows. You spend more time with that computer than you spend with me!"

OMG the thought is horrifying. No Dom you must stay single. Looking forward to 11.
rknapp 32 Posted November 12, 2005 Finish DD, then we'll talk about letting you have a relationship Don't worry about the dating scene. I'm not, and look at me!...... Ok maybe you should start dating, FAST! Lmao.
Masked Monkey 32 Posted November 12, 2005 All I will say is that the only thing more scary than a bad marriage is a messy divorce ... one day, i might see it from the other side, but not today.
Lucy Kemnitzer 0 Posted November 12, 2005 All I will say is that the only thing more scary than a bad marriage is a messy divorce ... one day, i might see it from the other side, but not today. Doesn't that depend on how bad and how messy, and what other factors? I haven't experienced either, so I just look at my friends and make guesses.

You have to decide for yourself just when bad finally outweighs messy. That's when one day shows up. Sharon
