RJ Santos Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 I woul have never believed that Rad would be one of those evil writers who make their loyal readers wait and pine for the next chapter, and a short chapter on top of that. He seems to be such a nice lad. Please post quick! (Missing Zack and hoping to see Brian) Ieshwar It wasn't you, Ieshwar. LOL That last scene where Zack cries, he just wasn't seeing the obvious. He was already in Brian's arms, but he was just too scared. In time, though, I hope he learns. That wasn't a spoiler, I hope. Ieshwar, with his penchant for cute straight boys, will probably be needing some fixing a broken heart in the future. LOL. (Look who's talking...haha) The problem is, sometimes (well, most of the time), there's no telling who's gay and who's not. It's a little embarrassing to walk up to a guy and ask him if he's straight so you could start crushing on him. Haha. I got it all backwards now. I don't know. Maybe I'm different but I would never ask my brother about anything concerning sex. (Ask them. I never had. Haha) Although I do freely talk about it with my cousins. They're the ones who taught me how. They made me perverted! I realize though that Zack was too innocent. Don't tell anyone but the first time I saw porn was when I was nine or eight. Saw because I had been a peeping tom. My big brother caught me
BeaStKid Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I wouldn't find it strange for brothers to watch porn together. After all, a younger brother might ask the older brother about masturbation if the younger brother was too uncomfortable to ask dad. Well, Zack specifically stated he was not comfy with him watching porn with Brian...so, He falls in my category. Moreover, people from south-Asian countries are normally conservative around their families and act more civil than they would when they are with their friends. I'm not saying that this isn't true for other regions as well, but we are more stringent about it...Parents are treated almost like God!!! lol The BeaStKid
RJ Santos Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 Zack wasn't comfy with it, but Brian sure as well was. Haha. What the hell was that? I only realized that now. Let's just say that it was a case of the character taking on a life of its own. And yeah, BeaStKid, you're right. Same here.
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted July 30, 2007 Site Moderator Posted July 30, 2007 At the risk of starting an argument, which isn't my intent. The young people on your side of the world do tend to show more respect to their elders. I grew up in an era where you didn't talk back to your parents. Kids today get away with murder. Some parents are afraid to discipline their kids these days for fear of going to jail for child abuse. If I did something wrong, I got spanked, not beat. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone abuse.
RJ Santos Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Me too. I got spanked. The last time I think was when I was 12 or 13. Respect though, speaking personally, was only on the outside. Yeah, I'm a hypocrite. But it's become like an instinct for me. (Respect the people older than me even when I really don't want to). Sometimes though I tend to lose it. Hehe

Hehe As you grow older, it is easier to lose it...lol...I do most of the times with my mum nowadays.
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted July 31, 2007 Site Moderator Posted July 31, 2007 I think that as you get older, Respect is something that you have to earn, much like trust. You can lose respect for some one at any age. Jan
BeaStKid Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Very true...There is also this one thing that I feel that as a child gets older, it also gets harder for the parents to accept that he/she is getting older...lol...and as a result, it leads to tension b/w them. I don't blame anyone for this, but its hard on both the parties...
RJ Santos Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Yes. A lot of parents get stuck with their child being their perfect little boy. I think they realize though that their kid has grown only when he gets married. Well, I really don't know anything about that stuff. Hehe. Just the other side of it--the kid's side. Jeez.
RJ Santos Posted August 11, 2007 Author Posted August 11, 2007 (edited) Fixing a Broken Heart Chapter Eight now posted This took long, I know. I wanted to post this after finishing chapter ten(which turned out to be long), so I knew I should have not read Dawn of Tears by dkstories. But I did. Then I also found this story at CRVBOY, Cross Currents by Adam Phillips. I highly recommend it guys. It makes me feel like FaBH is nothing but chicken doodlings. He's that good. Anyway, thanks for waiting. Edited August 11, 2007 by Rad Steven
Conner Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 This took long, I know. Excellent chicken doodlings, I must say, even though I have no idea what doodlings are. I have heard of chicken dumplings. I enjoyed getting to know Arvin better in this chapter. I particularly enjoyed Arvin's words to Z... "I'm not saying our relationship's not gonna last. I'm saying there's always a chance our relationship's not gonna work out. There's always a chance that I'm gonna have a hundred boyfriends before I die. But there's only one you. I've only got one best friend. You've always got my back, Z, and honestly, I'd feel naked without you." Now that was totally sweet. The friendly banter between was cool...and funny as well. "'K. Don't take too long. You can jack off later." "I'm already behind my quota, you know." I'm definitely curious about JR's reaction to Arvin. My only guess would be that JR is jealous. I'll have to wait and see, I guess. Great chapter, Rad. Conner
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted August 11, 2007 Site Moderator Posted August 11, 2007 I have to agree with what you said, Conner. The time spent with Arvin and Z. I think it helped strengthen their bond. There's also chicken scratching. I also thought that JR perceives Arvin as a potential threat, not realizing yet that Arvin and Z are best friends. Jan
RJ Santos Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 Excellent chicken doodlings, I must say, even though I have no idea what doodlings are. I have heard of chicken dumplings. I don't know if we're on the same page about this. Do you mean chicken dumplings as in chicken sh*t? There's this food here that everybody I know likes and they're called dumplings. They're ground meat wrapped with wanton wrappers then dip fried. Now that I have that image of chicken sh*t associated with dumplings, I don't think I'll be eating that in a while. I chuckled my way through this chapter, and I hoped that you guys would also be the same. Glad to know that my funny side worked.
RJ Santos Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 I have to agree with what you said, Conner. The time spent with Arvin and Z. I think it helped strengthen their bond. There's also chicken scratching. This was what I actually meant. I guess I just translated from Tagalog what my teacher always said about me: You write like a chicken. I also thought that JR perceives Arvin as a potential threat, not realizing yet that Arvin and Z are best friends. Jan We'll find out soon. I plan to post from now on every Saturday, my time here in Manila. So that's I think late Friday to some of you. Rad
Ieshwar Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Hi Rad, I see you finally updated the story after so many long days! Well, that was great! As usual. It was nice knowing Arvin a bit more. He
RJ Santos Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 Hi Rad, I see you finally updated the story after so many long days! Well, that was great! As usual. It was nice knowing Arvin a bit more. He’s not bad but I was expecting more comforting comments and assurance when he learnt about the adoption. But then, everyone’s not as good as me. There's only one you, Ieshwar. (I think I heard that somewhere. Or read ) Yeah, long long days. But from now on (since I've got a grip on the story already) it'll be every Saturday. I’m so relieved! When I saw Arvin and JR shy with each other, I thought that JR fell for Arvin! Phew. I wouldn’t have been able to take this shock! Well, that ‘hatred’ towards Arvin, don’t you think it’s rather jealousy? I dunno. JR's just really shy towards "new peeps". Hehe And btw, your story is really good. Don’t worry about the other writers. Unlike us, they’re not human. And they don’t have Brian! That’s something! Take care, Ieshwar Damn right. Humans they're not. We should teach them. On second thought, we really need non-human authors out there as models. P.S I’m waiting for you to write more about our very dear Brian! The next chapter has a little of Brian. I hope it satisfies thy hunger. Thanks, Ieshwar. Rad

Now that I have that image of chicken sh*t associated with dumplings, I don't think I'll be eating that in a while. Mistaken translations can be hilarious. Thanks, Jan. for helping me sort that out. I missed out on the metaphor the first time around. No, Rad, I was not referring to your story as chicken shit. I took chicken doodlings to be a reference to some food dish which maybe didn't have much appeal to you. Obviously, that wasn't what you were saying. I understand chicken scratching. Here's Wikipedis on dumplings... Dumplings may be any of a wide variety of dishes, both sweet and savoury, in several different cuisines. They are either made from balls of dough or are small parcels of food encased in pastry, dough, batter, or leaves. The dumplings I know are made from balls of dough. Conner
Conner Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Here's a few signs translated from a foreign language into English. In a Chinese laundry: For best results, drop your pants here. A Dutch airline: We send your baggage in all directions. A Japanese hotel: Please take advantage of the maids.
RJ Santos Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 No, Rad, I was not referring to your story as chicken shit. I took chicken doodlings to be a reference to some food dish which maybe didn't have much appeal to you. Obviously, that wasn't what you were saying. I understand chicken scratching. No, Conner. I didn't take it like that. I was thinking of the food actually.
BeaStKid Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Back to the topic, Guys...enough of chicken sh*t!! lol...lol... Nice chapter..really liked the renewed friendship between Zack and Arvin. The friendly banter was just awesome and the line where Arvin says that his and Max's relationship may not last but the friendship he shared with Z will last forever was wayyy too good!! I loved it!! I too think that JR is a bit jealous that Z's best friend is up and about while his is still in coma...I may be wrong, but then speculation is our (reader's) birth right!! lol The BeaStKid

Yeah. I am of the opinion that true friendship lasts forever. Anything with love in it could last forever as long as both persons involved are true to it. It takes two to tango. I too think that JR is a bit jealous that Z's best friend is up and about while his is still in coma...I may be wrong, but then speculation is our (reader's) birth right!! lol The BeaStKid Yup! Speculation is always the readers right. I always liked hearing what readers think what would happen next. Some are close, some are really far. Hehe.

Ieshwar Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Hi Rad, I just read the chapter. It's really good. You have well written the scene between Zack, Max and Arvin. It was so cool! And I just adored it! So is Zack out? I hope in the next chpater, Zack talks to Brian. It's not going to be easy for Zack but it would be great for us to read. Take care, Ieshwar P.S This is the 100th post. Cool, isn't it?
