Three Words

by hashbrown

"I love you", you said as the sun came down,

My smile and heart were foreign to a frown.

Your arm around me, holding me tight,

Embraced by your warmth, not a worry in sight.

Why it won't work, I'll never know.

Your love and mine, the world we'd show.

The cointinuous shuns have yet to give me a clue.

Three words I wish I could say

I hate you.

Wow... that's pretty good. You have some potential as poet. The best poetry comes from the heart, and you've already learned that important lesson. Good job! :)

I agree with Tiger, it was very good! like he said, you have potential to be a poet so why not you stay around at GA and write some poems while talking with other members, having fun in some of the topic, post pictures, anything!!

I really like the contrast here between love and hate and I love the way you drew significance for your title on the basis of both! I think this poem very accurately sums up the experience many people have from failed love affairs. There's a love which gradually turns to hate and it's sad, agonizing even, but hard to avoid when people jump in head first and allow themselves to be swept away by passion.

Very good poem, dude! :great:
