Can we go back in time for music? I have this irrisistible urge to see if Jeremy can find the perfect spot for the B52's 'Rock Lobster'.

I love that song. Hey Jeremy, you take requests?

And here's Chapter 12-

-When Robbie gets to Escorial, and the boys go skinny dipping

"Let the Good Times Roll" by The Cars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDVMCqWVLNo

-For the shopping trip scene to Stanford Fashion Plaza

"Fashion" by David Bowie

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnoYNMLwuEU

-When Brad tries to "convince" Robbie to stay.

"Refugee" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6g1c2V3UG8

If we're talking themes of the early 80's, I think "Fashion" by David Bowie is a great one. That was during the whole Calvin Klein/Gloria Vanderbilt/La Coste craze, right?

Yeah, but he doesn't really come into play until 1981/1982. Same with Duran Duran, which I'm hoping like hell I can use.

Posted (edited)

Yeah, but again, if it's an 1985 song, I can't use it.

I'm a history major in college so I've learned to be against anachronistic song uses. I've got to remain faithful to the 1980 time frame.

Chapter 13 Musical Recomendations

-When JP tells Robbie about Jeff, and breaks down.

"Ashes to Ashes" by David Bowie

I've been WAITING to use this one, prolly one of my favorite

tracks from 1980. I thought it fit pretty well with the

JP/Robbie/Brad scene.

-When Brad talks to Doug and kicks him out

"Beat on the Brat" by the Ramones

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ9YrvyRC28

-When Brad finds Jake and Robbie having sex

"Need Your Loving Tonight" by Queen

Chapter 13 was superb. :worship::worship: My fave so far. :D:wub:

I particularly enjoyed the scene between JP, Brad and Robbie.

The shower scene with Brad and Jake deserves an honourable mention.

"Breakdown" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

-When Brad and Robbie talk about whatever the hell it is going on with

them.

"I Want You Around" by The Ramones

-When Brad drives up the coast in his Ferrari, gets sidelined by the

hot Dutch guy, then finally gets them over to the beach

Great job on the music Jeremy. Cute and talented, all in one package. How come you don't have a boyfriend?

*shrugs* Dunno. I've had a couple of dates in my life, but so far it's all been hookups.

No one wants to be serious when you're in college, especially gay guys, so...there you go.

Mark,

B Rad is your finest work so far, and each chapter is better than the one before. And the whole thing with Jan will be burned in my mind forever.

In an earlier message, IRCC, I thought I wanted to be Brad. When he got the car, there was no doubt.

Who wouldn't want to be a hot young 17 year old guy with a Ferrari? Screw that, at 45, I'd settle for being a poor, fat 17 year old. Or maybe 19. That's a better age. :P

I wouldn't mind being 19 again, either. Being 23 is sorta blah.

Anyways, here are the Chapter 15 Musical Recomendations

-When Brad flips out at Robbie for the shower accident

"I Wannabe Sedated" by The Ramones

-Robbie confesses to his rape

"Save Me" by Queen

Pu-leese. I've got 10 years on Mark (turn double nickels this month). I'm holding out on going back until I can have abs and buns of steel.

Mark,

Another fantastic chapter. I can't believe where the characters are taking this story.

As always, thanks for writing.

Thanks to both of you. I'm surging along with writing, but have some re-writes to do on 20 and 21. My editor pointed out some of my flawed logic. Sharon is indeed very wise.

Chapter 16 Musical Recomendations

-When Brad wakes up to a gnarly hangover

"Big Shot" by Billy Joel

-The whole Yosemite trip

"Too Much Heaven" by The Bee Gees

-When Brad tells Robbie about Lark on the drive back to Malibu

"Hungry Heart" by Bruce Springsteen

Just started Chapter 17 and I had to post about this line "We screamed over the mountain at Sunol then down into Milipitas. What kind of name was that anyway?"

Mark, you stories are just full of these details that make it so real for me. EVERY teen aged boy (girls, too?) has/would have that reaction. Every teen aged boy at heart would have that reaction. I had it the first time I saw the sign for the exit.

Thanks.

Thanks. I did like that movie, only seen it once or twice. I'm a

sucker for time travel movies. And coincidentally, I was born on

Pearl Harbour Day as well as my grandfather, so yeah. LOL.

Here are my chapter 17 recomendations:

-When Brad and Robbie drive back, only talking at intersections.

"Drive All Night" by Bruce Springsteen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yW4Fu0Lk23c

Warning: This is a 10-minute version of the song from a concert

in 1980. If you don't like the Boss, well...

-When Brad and Robbie have sex, and Brad tells them they'll be a

couple someday.

"Wait For Me" by Hall & Oates

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLRHjcqY5bY

-When Lark and Brad sleep together.

"Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" by Journey

******

I'd never heard of that particular H&O song, "Wait For Me".

What a nice little gem! And pretty relevant to the scene I picked for

it, don't you think?

Jeremy,

You need to work on your cut and paste skills. This is the post you made in the Yahoo Group so no one knows what you're talking about regarding the movie. :sheep:

For the rest of you, Jeremy is referring to the movie "The Final Countdown." It's about an aircraft carrier (the USS Nimitz, I believe) that goes through some sort of temporal disturbance and ends up in 1941. December 6th to be specific. I liked it, although if memory serves, there were not great acting performances. Worth watching.

Boy, is my face red.

Anyways, just hope you guys enjoyed the selections. I'm really liking "Wait For Me", as I said before.
