Tiger Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 As I normally do when I reach another 1000 posts, I have decided to start a topic. As everyone I can see, I'm now at 5,000 as of this post. This time I'm not giving advice. Instead, I am talking about something that is close to my heart, metal! These are the guys who make you want to bang your head, climb a stairway to heaven, or have some love in an elevator. Without these awesome vocalists, we wouldn't have such awesome hits as "Enter Sandman", "November Rain", "Silent Lucidity", "Tom Sawyer", "In The End", "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing", and "Mama I'm Coming Home" just to name a few. They're loud. They're unapologetic. And they know how to rock! Source: http://www.hearya.com/2006/12/04/hit-parad...ts-of-all-time/ Hit Parader

DragonFire Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Mmm, I think I better get back to my Beyonce & Britney Cd's, because I only recognise about 20 on that list! Queen, Guns and Roses & the Scorpions would be the only one's I could actually listen to though!
Tiger Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 Mmm, I think I better get back to my Beyonce & Britney Cd's, because I only recognise about 20 on that list! Queen, Guns and Roses & the Scorpions would be the only one's I could actually listen to though! I used to like Britney until she became a skank. I like Beyonce. I'm actually quite eclectic when it comes to music, but metal is my favorite.
Former Member Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Some of my fav band's in there. Though I would call it more a rock list than metal.
clumber Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Yeah, a lot of those are more rock than metal. (And some of them like Aerosmith are bairly even Rock, really). Martin
AFriendlyFace Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) Cool list! My favourites (with the absolutely favourites bolded): 03. Steven Tyler- Aerosmith 04. Chris Cornell- Soundgarden and Audioslave (Excellent! Definitely deserves a spot in the top 5) 06. Freddie Mercury- Queen 08. Ozzy Osbourne- Everyone knows he is 15. Mick Jagger- Everyone knows who he is 16. Jonathan Davis- Korn 17. Roger Daltrey- The Who 20. Kurt Cobain- Nirvana 21. Maynard James Keenan- Tool and A Perfect Circle 24. James Hetfield- Metallica (Note, I actually like Metallica's music, but despise them as a group/people) 25. Trent Reznor- Nine Inch Nails 26. Serj Tankian- System of a Down 27. Layne Staley- Alice in Chains 31. Jon Bon Jovi- Bon Jovi 37. Philip Anselmo - Pantera (best rock band ever from Texas) (Blue October is a cooler Texas band, but not metal) 38. Zack De La Rocha- Rage Against the Machine 39. Brian Johnson- AC/DC 42. David Draiman- Disturbed 44. Marilyn Manson- His real name is Brian Warner 46. Chester Bennington- Linkin Park (also seriously underrated)(Agreed) 47. Sully Erna- Godsmack 49. Aaron Lewis- Staind 50. Brett Scallions- Fuel 52. Rob Zombie- White Zombie and self-named band 53. Anthony Kiedis- Red Hot Chili Peppers (Probably my favourite on this list...but there are alot of greats so it's iffy) 57. Scott Weiland- Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver 60. Rod Stewart- mostly a solo artist 63. Sonny Sandoval- P.O.D. 64. David Bowie- Rolling Stones 65. Joan Jett- Awesome woman rocker 66. Josey Scott- Saliva 67. Perry Farrell- Jane's Addiction 68. Scott Stapp- Creed (He's the guy who let booze ruin his career) (Weren't there a lot of guys who did that?) 69. Amy Lee- Evanescence 71. Fred Durst- Lim Biskit 72. Mike Shinoda- back-up vocalist and keyboardist for Linkin Park 75. Gavin Rossdale- Bush 82. Dave Williams- Drowning Pool 83. Dee Snider- Twisted Sister 90. Ian Astbury- The Cult 96. Wes Scantlin- Puddle of Mudd 98. Joshua Todd- Buckcherry Alot of great artists on this list! However, I agree that I wouldn't classify all of them as metal. Many/most could probably more accurately be classified simply as "Rock." I used to like Britney until she became a skank. That's funny; I only liked her after she became a skank. Seriously, her last two albums have been by far her best IMO. In fact I bought them. I wouldn't have dreamed of owning any of her earlier stuff. I like Beyonce. She's okay.
