Hi. So I couldn't find a thread on Death is Not an Option by Nephylim. I wanted to see other thoughts than just what the reviewers have said. Of course I love this storyline so far. It was very difficult and emotional to read in the beginning, Nephylim is very adept in bringing out emotions for her characters. Now, with the latest chapter and a point of view change in narration, I am even more intrigued. It definitely makes it seem as if Connor is going to a be a major role in the story to come. I think that in some ways he has even more issues than Isaac does with his situations, which I don't want to enumerate due to spoiling the story for someone who might not have read it so far. Anyways, that is saying a lot!! I think the ending of Ch. 19 is super sweet and am anxious to find out what is to come; especially as Nephylim seems to hit you with one from left field whenever you get too comfortable with her storyline.

Oh, and I really want to know what the big deal was with what Connor was singing, I might be dense but I still don't why it ticked his grandma and cousin off.

Looking forward to more to come!!

Thank you Cia for starting this thread. There is actually a discussion thread for this story and, hopefully the glorious mods / admins will merge the two for us. :)

I am delighted whenever anyone comments on my stories and even more so when they discuss them. When I am writing a story I 'live' the characters and they live for me. It is wonderful when people talk about them as though they are living for them too.

I think the Characters in this story are among my favourite that I have ever writting. (Apart from Daniel whom I love sooo much) Anyway... Isaac is a blank page, a creature of stunning contradiction and an innocence that is very very rare. It is no co incidence I had him coming from where he did. He has less than no experience of relationships, life, anything... and the things he does have experience of are tainted by those experiences. He is very childlike but not childish.

Connor on the other hand had been there done that broke the hearts and rolled up and spat on the tshirts. His experiences are very very different to Isaac and it is going to be one hell of a learning process for both of them to have any kind of realtionship at all.

There are times when I was writing this, when the story took on a life of its own, and I found myself thinking... how the hell are these two EVER going to make it together. Somtimes my conclusion was that they would and sometimes that they wouldn't.

In the next chapter you will find out what the deal is about the songs... it is a very big part of Connor's story, which is a somewhat challenging one. There is a lot still to come and, yes... those side winds are still blowing and will buffet all the characters.

I will tell you this... they haven't seen the last of Caleb and at some point someone is going to be saying in desperation. 'Death is NOT an Option'.
