Douw Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I love cool e-mails like sum that are just there to brighten up a bad day or sum that make you think a bout the things you do or how you do them... Like this one hope You like it made me think... USED vs LOVED: While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 yr old son picked up stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times; not realizing he was using a wrench. At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father.....with painful eyes he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?' The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times. Devastated by his own actions.......sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'. The next day that man committed suicide. . . Anger and Love have no limits...... Things are to be used and people are to be loved, but the problem in today's world is that, People are used and things are loved... During this year, let's be careful to keep this thought in mind: Things are to be used, but People are to be loved ... Be yourself....This is the only day we HAVE.
Nicholas J. Covington Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 This was most touching, and it illustrates many important truths. Sadly suicide was not the answer and that 4 y/o will likely grow up to blame himself for his fathers death. Just as his father blamed himself for his rage and the damage he caused. The child still needed and loved his father. But it is just as important to learn that "things" are never so important that "people" should be hurt for them. Those scratches would be easily fixed but the boys hand couldn't be, nor should we ever hit someone with an object. Though one wonders why he was polishing his car with a wrench?
Skyline Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 While I doubt the truthfullness of that story it is true nonetheless, people should be loved, and when you put objects before people in your life, there are issues which need to be dealt with. On a side note, I hardly ever read these things
Douw Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Ya not many people do thats mostly because a lot of them is trash but sum are good!
Skylights Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I don't like it. It doesn't give me a good feeling at all. Rather, I'm wondering why any normal Father would hit a child repeatedly for something so trivial. It doesn't really serve the purpose because the problem is bigger than the point trying to be made by using the problem...
Douw Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 I know not every one wood but the point i think it makes is that people are more important then things and sum times we forget and we need to think before we act... but thats just me!
