methodwriter85 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Alright, I've got plenty of time on my hands right now, and I feel like listening to some music...so I thought I'd rec songs that are from different eras associated with Mark Arbour's stories. I'll start with Be Rad...say 1979 to 1981. If you got any song recs from that era, please share! 1. Video Killed the Radio by the Buggles, 1979 2. Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie, 1980 3. Cars by Gary Numan, 1980 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ldyx3KHOFXw 4. Souvenir by OMD, 1981 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQoYeMAS5qo 5. Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol, 1981 6. Jesse's Girl by Rick Springfield, 1981 7, Pretty in Pink by the Psychelic Furs, 1981 8. The Stroke by Billy Squier, 1981 9. Just Can't Get Enough by Depeche Mode, 1981 10. Once in A Lifetime by the Talking Heads, 1981 If you can't tell, I really, really preferred 1981 music to 1980 music. I think 1980 was a weird transition year for American music. 1980 music in the UK was much, much better.

methodwriter85 Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Thanks for those picks, Tim! Now here's more of my Be Rad Era playlist.... 11. Heartache Tonight - The Eagles, 1979 http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/search/song?q=heartache%20tonight%20the%20eagles I used this to score a party scene in Be Rad. Song's over thirty years old now, but god does it ever describe the mating rituals at the bar and the college party. 12. Follow You, Follow Me - Genesis, 1978 (okay, this one is a bit of a cheat) 13. Since You've Been Gone - Rainbow, 1979 14. Rock N Roll High School- The Ramones, 1979 15. When You're Young - The Jam, 1979 16. Call Me - Blondie, 1980 http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/search/song?q=call%20me%20blondie 17. Buffalo Soldier - Bob Marley, 1980
