GA Readers Choice Nominations QUESTIONS

The fine print: Nominating your own work is allowed. To be eligible, all or part of the story must have been posted to Gay Authors for the first time during 2010.

I'm confused. It had to be started being posted in 2010? does that mean the story has to be posted for the entire 2011 year?

Does this FIRST mean stories posting in 2010, 2011 and 2012 are ineligible?

 

Edit to add: What I mean is a story that posted its first chapter in 2010, posted all through 2011 and is continuing posting in 2012.

If a story started posting in 2010, those chapters are not eligible. Any chapters of that story posted in 2011, are eligible. Any chapters posted in 2012 are not eligible until the next GA Readers Choice awards.

Jan, that's a bit confusing as the nominations aren't based on chapters. It's the story that is nominated.

 

Steve, what we're trying to convey is that only stories posted, or stories that were added to, in 2011 are considered eligible. You have to remember that, with the start of GA Stories, it looks like everything was posted in 2011 since everything from the Hosted and Promising authors sites and eFiction was moved in early January.We just want everyone to understand that a story from...say, 2009 isn't considered eligible just because its posted date in GA Stories is 2011.

so a story thats posted to very infrequently, like a Dan Hanratty, could be nominated for multiple years running, even if its just 1 chapter a year?

or would it become ineligable based on a previous years nomination?

 

 

alternatively, if were nominating, & then voting, on 'stories', should it only be open to stories that were completed that year?

 

 

is it fair to try & compare a completed 5 chapter story to a multi-year epic that dosnt get completed?

there could be a 'best work in progress' category for those not yet completed stories, to recognise the effort put into them.
