Tranquility Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 It may be a dumb question, but I kind of wonder. I've only ever seen a few couples where one of them wears dental braces. So I'm wondering, would you guys date someone with braces? If yes, why - if no, why not.
Andy78 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) I have done. When I was fourteen, my BF at the time wore braces - no major headgear or anything, just regular braces. And then another BF when I was sixteen wore braces as well. Why did I go out with them? Well they were still human, and damn cute as well. It's not like they were going to go all Borg on me, and try and assimilate me Edited September 25, 2012 by andy021278
Michael9344 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I've not thought about this. I have not dated anyone with braces, but I don't see braces stopping from dating someone, as long as they're cute and lovable:). To me, (regular) braces don't makes a significant difference (now). Those headgear kinds are totally a different matter...
K.C. Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) I never thought about it before either but that's a good question. No I've never dated anyone with braces but I had them (even the awful headgear, rubberbands, and later a retainer and all) One of the reasons I hate looking back at those pictures! My mom put a lot of money into our mouths Edited September 25, 2012 by KC Grim
Andy78 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 But look what it did to your head It's all sideways tilted and covered in orange hair 4
Johnathan Colourfield Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Doesn't phase me as i had braces myself at a young age
joann414 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 But look what it did to your head It's all sideways tilted and covered in orange hair That was absolutely hysterical Andy. made my day
K.C. Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 But look what it did to your head It's all sideways tilted and covered in orange hair Hahaha, the rest of me is screwed but my teeth are still straight 1
MikeL Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I had braces in my late twenties. They actually show up in our wedding pictures and I kid my wife about robbing the cradle. 1
JamesSavik Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I didn't have braces. Back then nobody in the country had braces. I don't even remember seeing them around until the late-70s and only on people from the big city (that would be Jackson or New Orleans). i should have had them. My teeth are crooked and I've had a lot of trouble with them.
Tranquility Posted September 26, 2012 Author Posted September 26, 2012 I personally wouldn't mind dating someone with braces, but you have to wonder... Just how much do they limit certain activities one can perform with their mouth? 1
Zombie Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 When I was fourteen, my BF at the time wore braces And here he is! 2
A.J. Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I wore braces for two years so I wouldn't discriminate against a guy simply because of braces. I did kiss french kiss a guy with braces once in college and it was weird, but I think I could overlook that as long as he didn't cut me with them.
TetRefine Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Thats why they invented Invisilign braces.
podga Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 At first, I missed the word "dental" and thought, heck no, too Gordon Gekko. Then I realized you weren't asking about suspenders.
A.J. Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Thats why they invented Invisilign braces. You're right, because people with bad teeth should be able to get lucky too. 1
Yettie One Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Yeah braces wouldn't put me off someone, actually I have know a few really damn cute people with braces in my life. Never dated one as yet, and I guess at this stage of life it'd not really be a factor to be worried about in middle aged men. Maybe more dentures to be thinking about at this time in life. Hahahaha
