GREEN Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 So lately I've been looking through alot of my old files so I can see what I should keep and what I should delete. Looking through my vieo files I found one of my favorite videos. Its Fiona Apple's cover of "Across The Universe," its a John Lennon song that in my opinion was better sung by Fiona. So the the video is amazing. It was made for the movie Pleasantville's soundtrack. I was wondering what are some of your favorite videos?
PartsBoy Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Having young parents, I grew up watching MTV while everyone else was watching childrens shows. So, most of my favorites were from the eighties. My favorite was allways Take on Me, by Aha. I dunno why, I just was.
JamesSavik Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Yikes! Videos are like chips or M&Ms- you know you can't name just one. Here's a couple of my favorites... Wake me up When September Ends by Green Day Blurry by Puddle of Mud
Guest fayevalentine Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 My favorite from when I used to watch alot of MuchMusic in highschool was Sonic Youth - 100% it's from 1991 I believe. But now I'm mostly into Japanese rock, so my favorite jrock video's are L'Arc~en~Ciel - dive to blue which is from 1999. The singer was 30 there, although alot of people think he looks 12 and my grandma thought he was a girl, and L'Arc~en~Ciel - Stay Away I'm really into L'Arc right now.

Wake me up When September Ends by Green Day Blurry by Puddle of Mud Oh my God, I've heard the Green Day song so many times and never seen the video, it was so good. It actually made me cry. I thought he'd cheated on her.
NateB Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 My fav. would hafta be "Only" by Nine Inch Nails... -Nate
Gregoire Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Videos are like boys, you can't choose just one. And since I can't I won't try, --Greg.
GREEN Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 What about controversial videos? Like Bjorks all is full of love or radio heads rabbit in your headlight that was banned from MTV. I would love to make something like these that to me are works of art. GREEN
AFriendlyFace Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 (edited) Videos are like boys, you can't choose just one. Some of the more recent ones that I've seen (like this week and last week) are: Gwen Stefani's "Luxurious" Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" (I luvs that video) Beyonce's "Check Up On It" Madonna's "Hung Up" and "Ray of Light" There are definitely more, --Greg. Well first off in an effort to push my single-minded agenda of monogamy let me just state that, IMO, you really should (eventually at least) pick just one boy . That said, do what you want just have fun and don't hurt anyone or get hurt yourself Secondly I LOVE "beautiful" by Christina Aguilera. Other current favorites would include: "Dirty Little Secret" by The All American Rejects, "Sugar, we're going down" by Fall Out Boy, "Lonely No More" by Rob Thomas (it's a good song but mostly I just like to watch him swing his hips in those pants), "She's no you" by Jesse McCartney (actually I'd probably never even LISTEN to the song, but GOSH is he HOTTTT in that video!) "Fine Again" by Seether "How Do You Get That Lonely" by Blaine Larsen (It's a country song but seriously EVERYONE should be required to listen to it at least once, and the video really nails down the point) "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been" By Reliant K (It's a Christian song, but regardless of your faith and beliefs, the video is pretty cool IMO and their lead singer is also really fun to look at) And my all time favorite video...... The video I spent over 12 hours downloading on an incredibly slow dial up modem back in the day...... The video that actually got me hooked on music videos The video which I use as a yardstick against which I measure all other videos.... "Warning" by Green Day! You may not even like it that much, but I really love the satire, as well as the way the character does all these stupid things but seems to lead a charmed life. It speaks to me okay! I guess because I feel like I'm often oblivious to the dangers and catastrophes going on around me yet seem to (usually) come out unscathed. Anyway take care and happy watching! Wynter Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Hmmm, I dont watch a lot of music videos but one of favourites is The Dope Show by Marilyn Manson. One of my friends downloaded it from somewhere 'coz it's been banned in some countries. I'm not sure why. It might be the androgonus body suit or the gay cops in pink uniforms kissing ("the cops and queers. make good looking models"). Whatever, it's entertaining and Manson actually looks suprisingly feminine all dressed up in shiny crimson. Wynter
EleCivil Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Not sure if it counts or not, but on the Plan-It-X Fest 2004 DVD, the Operation: Cliff Clavin performace at the end. After they finish their song and are doing some standard between-songs crowd patter, a bunch of people with masks run out and hit them with pies. They're all covered in whipped cream and custard, spitting and coughing, and the singer/guitarist yells out "Dude...is this stuff vegan!?" I should also mention "Blood Red Summer" and "A Favor House Atlantic" by Coheed and Cambria. Both great videos.
