Zombie Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 the original The Avengers star, Patrick Macnee, is no more He's best known for playing the archetypal Englishman John Steed in the British TV "spy-fi" show that ran from 1961. I love old 60s TV shows and this is one of my faves 4

Site Moderator drpaladin Posted June 26, 2015 Site Moderator Posted June 26, 2015 Patrick Macnee always imbued the characters he portrayed with a certain elegance and grace. I loved The Avengers. It often had some of the most clever lines and inside jokes. When co-star Honor Blackman left the show to portray Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, they had this line in an episode, "Mrs. Gale is in Kentucky. I wonder what she's doing there." LOL He owned 25% rights to The Avengers, which meant, unfortunately for us, that he seldom had to work. I'll really miss him. RIP 1
