oboi83 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Hi All I am new to the forum. I'm currently reading through gay classics. I just finished Maurice by EM Foster. I find that I could really identify with Clive who got up the courage to display his love for Maurice only got initially rejected. However later on due to societal pressure, he succumbed to adopting a more conventional lifestyle and marrying a woman. I feel even in the 21st century, there is still a lot of hostility existing in the society which makes it very hard for some gay men to find true love and be in a stable relationship just like other heterosexual couples desire for. I'd like to hear other people's favourite gay classics and some of the characters you identify with.
Timothy M. Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I remember reading Brideshead Revisited many years ago, but I can't say I really identified with anyone.
