ricky Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Well lurking got boring, and some of the stories compelled me to make an account so here I am. This place has been...interesting so far. Nice to meet you! Your Interests say sports. What kind of stereotypical homo are you anyways? Don't you know we have stereo types to promote? It gives us the element of surprise. No one expects a gay guy on the soccer field. Well except in my story "Roll Call". I mean it's totally out of the question! Welcome to GA. I hope you enjoy what you find here. We have lots of fun and meet lots of wild and interesting people.
ricky Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Hey all! My name's Beck. I've been a GA lurker for almost a year now and I felt it was time to make myself a profile so I could finally write nice comments to the authors I've enjoyed over the past few months. Um, I guess I should do a little introduction? I'm 20 and a university student studying anthropology in good old NYC. I love reading and writing and if I had my way I'd just try to make it as a novelist. Maybe one day I'll do just that. This is a great place to do it. They have a wealth of truly gifted authors that you have access to and they will help with editing and questions etc. No where else do you have access to such great artists and their work. People Like Mark Arbour, CW James and Nephylim (Be careful of her hugs, she nibbles . . . hard.) But a zillion other great writers, readers and editors and beta readers. Welcome and thanks for coming out to us. Cheers, ricky
ricky Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Oh I'm chore he will love her Hugs... I hope you wil be around a bunch. There is so much to offer here.

So I thought I'd make myself known. Welcome out of the lurker closet! Need something good to read? Here is my starter list: It depends on your tastes. If you like coming of age, younger teens and coming out stories then Mine are said to be alright. Click on my pic for my profile and find links under about me. Or Bill W's Cast away hotel http://bwsryc.gayauthors.org/ Blood sucking homo lovers your thing? Nephylim is your author. I'm told they are good. I confess, not my thing. But she rocks! http://www.gayauthor...er.php?uid=7118 Rich college soap opera of sorts, one of the most fantastic writers ever is Mark Arbours. My favorite is another of his. Swashbuckling love Start with Mark Arbour's The gunroom be aware that he has two stories and they are a series so it is best to start at the first story of his series. (He is probably the best author on the site except for maybe Jamie) For Mark Arbour http://markarbour.gayauthors.org/ If you like fantasy then David McLeod sort of magical stories http://www.gayauthor...er.php?uid=6908 And next the most fantastic story of all time "The Scrolls Of Icaria" http://awesomedude.c...a__chapters.htm Dom Luca is college age and he is well followed http://domluka.gayauthors.org/ And CW James is also of that Genre http://cjames.gayauthors.org/ High school Age Comically http://comicality.gayauthors.org/ That should get you started. Cheers, ricky

Cheers, ricky Cool, thanks, I think I'll check out Mark Arbor... I've been a lurker but I've read a lot of stories so I'm kind of running out, on here I've read everything of (and keep up with the new stuff of) CJames, DomLuka, dkstories, most of Comicality's stuff, Christopher Lydon, Krista, Libby Drew, Tiffini Chin, the Zot, and a good bit of efiction and such. And I've read a good bit of thing on nifty, awesomedude, and some yahoo groups and such. Basically I'm looking for well written, not completely sex driven, stories with at least somewhat realistic characters (even if the situations aren't) I like sci-fi, some fantasy, coming of age...pretty much anything as long as it can keep my attention. So any specific story suggestions from anyone are welcome.

Does this have anything to do with the "well written" part of your statement? Or perhaps you've just "overlooked" my part in all this? Just in case: https://www.gayauthors.org/efiction/viewuser.php?uid=7452 (Mom always said, "If you don't toot your own horn once in a while, someone will use the damn thing for a funnel.") But after you give them a gander I expect to be cleared of all charges!

I put just because I said I'd check out Mark Arbor's stuff doesn't mean I won't check out the others on the list as well, he was just near the top of your list... I make no accusations! Note: I may steal that quote.

As for the quote, go ahead, she won't mind, she croaked in 2004. She was the master of sayings. Things like, "John Michael Ricky! If enough people tell you that you're a jack ass then MAYbe you should stop and at LEAST feel your ears!" and other greats like "I can't died in the poor house with I don't know how." And of course the ever popular: "If wishes were horses then beggars would ride and if watches were turnips I'd wear on on my side and if wishes were fishes then we'd have a fishfry." That one used to bug me because I knew I had to wait for the end before I could get out the door and she was never in a hurry to finish it.

The quotes are awesome, though I'm sorry she "croaked in 2004." And I shall read a few new stories (including yours) and let you know what I think. I have no life as of late so I need something to keep me busy lol. Its just I'm not really picky but sometimes when it comes to stories I just can't get into some after a chapter or 2, or certain things will bug me and I'll have to move on, so I tend to find an author I like, read all their stuff and try to find people like them...then I'll get into a new mood, find a different author (with a different style) and do the same. I'm a creature of habit I guess.
Douw Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Welcome to the sunlight ye closet lurker! Ricky is a good righter check out sum of his story's ! Sum other righter's that are good are (J_Ross) and (Little Buddha TW) Are good reads! Any way enjoy!

You only seem to want it until you have it. I'll have to check out the two "righters" mentioned above as I haven't read either of them yet. See Astute! That's how it works. That's why I made the start-up list. You need something until you find more really good "righters"! Otherwise you could end up reading a whole lot of wrongers and that wouldn't be much fun at all. Cheers and thanks for the flowers Douw! Ricky

I've got a crazy schedule so I'll be in and out, but it's really great to finally be a part. Hope the make some connections with you all. Many Welcomes. Most of us have some sort of life too. SO we catch as catch can. Make your self at home. There are a lot of really great folks about. Then there's Mark arbor too. He's be contrary as of late so I feel obliged to bust his chops a little. For some insane reason he thinks that because he is one of the greatest writers on the planet that he can be grumpy some times. So be a little insane and you'll fit right in.

Menorain Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Oh hai! Newb. Thoroughly distressed about the location of the cp panel. Willingly answers to most names, excluding 'menopause'. AVATAAAAAR UPLOADING. Rather fancies a drink. Has no alcohol. Remains sober. C'est la vie. I'm a twenty year old student from the United Kingdom. "And that's just one side of me!" "Give over, Susie B". Studying psychology, but I've had a passion for writing since I was about yay high. I'm pretty laid back and friendly so don't be afraid to creep up on me with some chloroform or whatever. ANYWAY, maybe we'll see each other about? EH? In the meantime, feel free to offer me advice about the forums (or anything really). Clearly I need it in buckets.

We are pretty kick back around here. Don't mind shoes on the coffee table sorta comfortable. There are great writers here and they are very accessible. Most will allow you to pick their brains with sharp instruments provided it doesn't hurt. A wealth of information. Navigation is easier if you remember that your stories will be posted in E-fiction first and that section is really a separate entity from the forums. So it is a second registration. Then go to Joe or post in the admins section of the forums requesting author status then start posting. If you have work on Nifty or elsewhere don't post it all at once. Just do a chapter or two a week. The reason being that it keeps your name forward in the "Recently posted" list and gives you more exposure and allows the non-daily lurker a better opportunity to see your name and to know your work before your name scrolls down and off the list. Because you are knew your stuff may not post as soon as you push the button as it will need to be looked over to make sure it's within the guidelines and that it is in fact your work. There have been a few issues and that has caused GA to error on the side of protection and caution. That's protection for you too. It keeps someone else from trying to post your work as theirs. So don't be offended and know that that process will relax once they know you. Read stories and then comment in the forums and do reviews. Get to know people. And most of all, have fun.
Menorain Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Thanks, Ricky! And cheers for the pm as well. All very helpful and shall bear it all in mind. Maybe I'll see you in the chat at some point in life
Bumblebee Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Ok here goes.... Obviously I'm new here, and I have been looking at ga for sometime.... Though only on my iPod since that deletes any "wtf are you doing on a gay site??" from my sister/mum... Anyway I'm glad I've joined, but just a quick question, are there any lesbian stories on ga??
